“A village of log cabins”
This is a log cabin village and museum with a visitors center and gift shop. The site has 15 buildings you may tour, seven of which are log cabins dating to 1820. This was the Bergt homestead and farm; the family lived here for 117 years. Hands-on activities are available to help you gain an appreciation of living in the 1800s. We can accommodate large groups and bus tours; a meal can be prepared with prior arrangements. We are located 12 miles south of Perryville on Route 61; west on Route A, six miles to Frohna; then north on Route C for one-half mile. We are 35 miles north of Cape Girardeau. Open March thru November; a live nativity is presented in December. Free will donations accepted.
