Awe inspiring. Beautiful vistas. Loved it but glad my husband drove. Road is in great condition but the switchbacks and lack of guard rail had me gripping the handle on the passenger side (I was in the back seat). I don’t like heights and we were only a couple feet from a shear drop of 4000+ feet. Glad I did it but glad I didn’t have to drive.

Beautiful drive. Lots of hikes and pull outs along the road. Some shorter hikes, some longer.

We visited there after visiting Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. I don't understand why Colorado National Monument isn't a National Park. The beautiful scenery is outstanding. We ate lunch at the patio area near the entrance and it was great. This is a must see.

The Colorado National Monument is one of the most visited sites in Western Colorado, and for good reason! The towering monoliths and red rock canyons are beautiful to experience over views of Grand Valley.

There are many great ways to take in the natural beauty of this geological area. Head out on the biking and hiking trails, go canyoneering, try camping, or take in the views via the 23-mile Rim Rock Drive.

The historic Rim Rock Drive is a must when visiting the national monument. It is one of the most amazing drives in the United States. Bike or drive along this scenic drive and take in the vibrant red sandstone canyons and mesas rising above the Colorado River. Stop at some of the overlooks along the way to really take in the views — you won’t regret it!

We think a visit here is one of the best things to do in Grand Junction!
