“a little bit of everything cafe”
Rosmond Duzich Thormahlen and Ryanne Duzich Culberson are the Farley Girls. While they are not BOI’s (Born On Island), they have just as much love and commitment for Galveston as any other Islander. The Duzich family has been a vital part of Galveston since 1990, with entities such as Fisherman’s Wharf, Fish Tales, The Spots, Waterman, and even more. The family’s entrepreneurial and philanthropic spirit has touched many Galvestonians and beyond. Rosmond graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Miami. Through her course of study, she found her love for the restaurant world and enhanced it with a fundamental culinary education. After graduation, she met an Aggie Marine Corps Aviator and is a proud Marine Corps wife and mother of a lovely young daughter. Ryanne attended culinary school in Austin, where her interest in restaurant operations flourished. After a career in the film industry, the café business was calling. She is highly skilled in front-of-the-house operations and has used these skills to the advantage of Farley Girls Café in many ways. Ryanne and her Aggie ex-Marine were recently married. Ryanne and Roz took advantage of an opportunity to open the only family style café in the UTMB hospital district in 2012. With the rich history of the Duzich family’s restaurant endeavors, the Farley Girls have put their passion to work on their beloved Galveston Island.
