“On the border of Great Smoky Mountains National Park”

Originally built in the early 1960's, the LeConte Vista RV Park was a favorite place to stay for many families visiting Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Closed in 2007, the property was completely remodeled in 2013 and is now Camp LeConte. We are currently building Luxury Tree Houses and already feature the Safari Tent Experience. We welcome those with RV's, Campers or Primitive Tents. We are a boutique campground so space in limited. Reserve your place today at Camp LeConte.

Cute camp. Very small though. Their have a trolley stop into town at the camp which is very convenient. We parked the RV at the city hall trolley stop (ample parking) because we arrived early in the AM before we could check into the site. We took the blue line into town and it all worked out. At the end of the day the trolley took us back to city hall stop and we were just a mile from the campsite. Pool was tiny and not even worth the swim. Otherwise very relaxing.

Full disclosure...I'm more into woods and solitude. We're not much for private campgrounds and would pick a dry camping National Forest over amenities most days. That being said, we needed a quick 2-nighter in Gatlinburg and I just so happened to stumble onto this campground and I'm so glad I did!

The owners have thought about everything at this campground. At least 100 times I thought to myself, if I had a campground I would do exactly what they've done with_____. Little things like nice pool loungers, lights on power stations at each campsite, public safety discounts, cornhole, rough lap wood on the treehouses, pinteresty touches on everything...the list goes on and on. It's a small campground with an intimate touch and owners who live on property who are young and super friendly. It's clean, modern and top-notch. Not to mention, it has some really cool Glamping tents and tree houses!

There're 11 pull-thrus and 9 back-ins I believe. Fairly level (needed 2 blocks for side-by-side leveling) with full hook-ups. The pull-thrus have about 10' between sites and the back-ins have a little more space and back up to a really steep hill. Adjacent to the RV sites is an area for 5 tents that is somewhat private and nice. We really enjoyed the pavilion which had ping pong and cornhole.

The closest grocery store and gas are 1 1/2 miles away (Food Lion). Gatlinburg is about 10 minutes away. There is a trolley stop at the campground for $.50/pp. They sell firewood for $5 and ice for $2.50. Washing machine is high end and $4/load...but dryer is much cheaper. Super nice showers and bathroom. Welcome shop has some souvenirs, snacks and rv supplies.

There is only one negative for this campground...and that's the noise from the highway. It's right on Highway 321 so it's loud. Not too bad if you have a hard sided camper. But if you're in one of the Glamping tents, a treehouse or a tent of your own, you'll notice the noise. The farther away from the highway the better. Site 11 is perfect. Oh, and they have great WiFi.

Stay here...you'll love it!

Good location right on hwy 321 with a trolly stop right out front. Clean bathhouse , laundry and store.

Nice owners who plan activities for kids. Pool with lounge chairs, playground and pavilion for group gatherings.

Vintage Travel Trailers, Safari Tents and Treehousees for rent which are unique.

Food City just down the road and very convenient to downtown Gatlinburg.

Pets okay. Full Hookups including cable

Best one in our smoky mountain trip. We purposely selected 3 different sites during our tour in the Smoky. This one is the best. Very clean, well designed, a lot of thoughtful details to show the owners' hospitality. My kids loved the heated pool and game tent. Other campers are all nice and seems to be RVing for seasons. The WIFI is 25M compare to 5M in other sites. But it did drop a few times. I'm not sure it's due to the weather or what. Will come back again if we are in this area. During the pandemic the office hour is limited. We wish they have a quarter exchange machine by the laundry. I ran out of quarters after used up 5 dollars and couldn't get my laundry completely dried.

The grounds are very well maintained, but the sites are pretty small. We had a back-in site for our 36' trailer and had to move it over in order for the slide-out not to hit the electric box, and it barely left enough room to parallel park our truck in front of the trailer. Everything worked great and the staff was nice, and it was extremely convenient to downtown Gatlinburg (around 3 miles away). It was pretty expensive but seems to be the nicest campground in the area.

Great spot right down the road from Gatlinburg shopping and the Smokey Mounty National Park.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. There’s a small store with plenty to choose from, clean showers, and laundry machines.

The RV spots are great lengthwise, but are a bit cramped width wise. We still had plenty of room for all slides and awnings. Odds are your tow vehicle will be a bit in your way though.

The park requires “air tight” sewer connections, and sell several types in the store. I checked with the front desk, and my Camco rhino clear elbow that fits inside the sewer connection was just fine.

Each spot had a fire pit. Some pits did not have grill grates, but those spots had a charcoal grill included.

There are several luxury tent-like structures for rent, as well as two old school style campers and tree houses. Check out the website for those.

The grounds were well kept and looked after. There’s a decent size pool and small gazebo structure with corn hole bags and ping-pong table.

This is a great park and location if your visiting Gatlinburg and the Smokey’s! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We only stayed here for 1 night to visit Gatlinburg and I don’t really recommend more than that.
Pros: Clean, well kept and 10 mins from Gatlinburg. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Pool area is nice
Cons: Before 8am it will sound like a truck stop with all the big rigs leaving. The spots in the middle are so close your picnic table is literally 3 feet from your neighbors dump station. The spots are small so if you have dogs or children that would like room to play there’s not much space. Did I mention the middle spots are CLOSE, you will hear your neighbors talking if they are sitting outside! We stayed here on a Wednesday

Treehouse was a nice stay. No a/c or heat. Screened windows so be prepared based on the weather.

Very well kept, clean, modern, with style. We loved the treehouse and the one night spent in the safari tent. Friendly staff and other guests. Highly recommend Camp Leconte!!
