“Stop into the downtown tasting room!”
We look forward to welcoming you to our downtown tasting room! It is located just off the Sonoma Plaza at 536 Broadway – in with the Wine Hardware store. It’s a great way to start your visit to downtown Sonoma. The downtown tasting room is open Noon to 5:00 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday (winter hours). No appointment needed. Janice, Jasmine and Elizabeth are more than happy to answer any wine related questions you might have and would love to serve you! Wine Club members are welcome to pick up their Wine Club orders here. Lorenzo Petroni sought out this particular piece of land for winegrowing due to the ideal climate, volcanic soil and hillsides that mirrored those of his native Tuscany. He purchased and planted his first vines on the Poggio alla Pietra in 1992 and since then, has grown his estate vineyards to nearly 30 acres. These low-yielding, organic vineyards are located in the west Mayacamas Mountains which overlook the Sonoma Valley. Excellent sun exposure and optimum climate ensure the slow ripening of the grapes, which in turn makes wine of great depth and complexity. The rich volanic soils and high elevations of our Cavedale Road vineyards are an important feature that positively impacts our wine-growing abilities. Petroni Vineyards also owns and operates the 14.5 acre Trinity Ranch block vineyard on Mt. Veeder. This estate vineyard is grown at 2000 ft elevation and is known for its loamy soil conditions. The elevation of this vineyard keeps the vines cool and promotes a longer ripening period to allow full flavor development and retains balanced acidity. Trinity Ranch block is home to Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
