“See these majestic creatures up close”
Since our first whale watch tour in the spring of 1982 we have had the privilage of introducing thousands of people to whales that gather to feed off the coast of Massachusetts each year. We’re passionate about whales and the marine environment, and we believe that providing an inspiring experience with some of natures largest and most endangered creatures helps build awareness and respect for our ocean environment and these amazing mammals. We are family owned and operated and, of course, family friendly! Our goal is to make your time spent with us fun, educational, and something that you will remember forever. We take pride in our reputation for providing our customers with the best overall whale watching experience in the industry.
WONDERFUL & highly recommended experience. We saw countless whales from a distance & up close. The trip was beyond worth it, made affordable via 7 Seas selling through Groupon, & furthered by their genuine & kind ticketing staff. The naturalist + interns & other crew members were very knowledgeable & friendly. The captain was stellar at following each sighting then cutting the engine so we to maximize each. Just over $100 for our family of 6 (ages 6, 12, 18, 20, & us parents-Groupon + student &/or other discount options for kids) + 4 hours of fun (from the history filled, choppy post-rain boat ride out/back, to the 1.5 hours of searching the feeding grounds). It would've only furthered how amazing it was had we gotten to see some of the other possible wild life; but we did get several humpbacks (moms + babies) & some basking sharks on our way out. Only >1 hr from Boston, it's a worthwhile stop for locals & tourists alike. Remember Gloucester has some of Mass' best sea food stops, per some Boston natives too. FYI bringing your own snacks & drinks IS permitted (as long as no glass). Their 99% success rate did not disappoint (despite lots of rain day before, intermittent day of, & overcast).
I would recommend. We saw LOTS of whales. They were very close to our boat too. The boat ride out and back was enjoyable too. They provided a lot of interesting information on whales as well, and were available to answer all of our questions! Best place to sit in my opinion is up top, that way it's easier to go from side to side when a whale swims under the boat. Do take sunscreen. If you are prone to seasickness, be sure to take appropriate measures. Also, when the boat is stationary, it rocks a lot. No one fell over, but I could see it happening easily.
