This place has such a beautiful location but the food was a mess. My friend saw that they had Halibut Fish and Chips on the lunch menu and asked if he could get it as a dinner entree. The waitress said that it shouldn't be a problem. We both ordered the Pear Salad: spinach, sliced pear, goat cheese and candied hazelnuts. I also ordered a Twice Baked Potato from the sides menu. The halibut was disappointing at best. It was reheated (probably from lunch) and had soggy batter and mushy, flavorless fish. It came with a cup of coleslaw that the waitress should have noticed was way past acceptable serving condition with brown, slimy cabbage in spots. The salad was tasty but the spinach was starting to go bad. Again I fault the waitress for serving it. Look at what you're bringing to the table!! The pear on my salad was extremely bruised and so poorly sliced that all of the slices were still connected at the blossom end.
I know that the kitchen hates to waste food but a good rule of thumb is: Would I serve this food to guests at my house?
Sure, I will serve bruised fruit to my husband and kids but not to guests. Especially not paying guests.
Nobody wants reheated deep fried foods! And slimy greens are always a no-no! Will we go back? No-no.
