49 miles south of Atlanta is the sleepy town of Grantville, a Walking Dead Filming Location. A rural southern town virtually abandoned after its cotton mill closed. You can take a guided tour of all the locations where they have filmed in the town. The main attraction is going into Morgans apartment. The tour guide is very nice and helpful. He will let you know how to get to the other filming locations in Georgia.

On my cross country trip from North Carolina to California, I stopped by Historic Grantville. It's located extremely close to I-85, just southeast of Atlanta, making a short pitstop doable. It was worth the stop! There were a few tourists in the area, snapping photos of the downtown storefronts, which are featured in a number of film productions, including "The Walking Dead". A local gentleman stopped me and asked if I was visiting to see where these productions were filmed, and he gave me a short tour of the area, pointing to which buildings were featured on which films. He pointed to the large red building past the storefronts and indicated that this old house was most recently filmed in "Dumb and Dumber To". I posted a couple photos of the town on my website, "Wanderlust Creative Endeavors". Feel free to follow me and share your experience!
