“Heritage and History on a Hill!”
Heritage Hill is a living history museum devoted to the preservation of its buildings and artifacts and the interpretation of the history of Northeast Wisconsin and its people. Our purpose is to provide an educational experience that encourages visitor awareness, understanding and appreciation of the history of the region. We are committed to enriching the lives of visitors of all ages by nurturing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the history of Northeastern Wisconsin and its people. History is brought to life for thousands of visitors annually through educational programs for school children, unique seasonal events for families, and special activities for seniors. Visitors are invited to explore historic buildings in four distinct areas of the park representing various periods of Northeastern Wisconsin's rich heritage and interact with interpreters who bring their bygone era to life. Through the unique experiences provided for visitors throughout the year, Heritage Hill has earned a reputation as a jewel of the Midwest for guests from within the area, and those visiting our community. A new adventure awaits with every Heritage Hill State Historical Park experience.
My husband and I went here on school trips when we were kids and wanted to bring our kids here to experience the Hill. We had a great time, although we both wish more of the interpreters would've been there to talk about the different buildings as well as some of the closed buildings being open. All in all it was a great trip and the kids enjoyed it.
