“Kick back and go fishing”
Green River State Park is the put-in point for the 120-mile float through Labyrinth and Stillwater Canyons. This section of the river is rated for beginners and intermediate boaters. This trip takes you through beautiful desert and Canyon scenery and is enjoyable to all. Green River State Park is also home to a challenging nine-hole golf course, campground with tall, shady cottonwood trees, and numerous species of birds. If fishing is your activity of choice, the Green has catfish, carp, and four unique native fish that are threatened with extinction and protected - Colorado Pike Minnow (Squawfish), Razorback Sucker, Humpback Chub, and Bonytail Chub. Anglers should release any of the unique fish.

Clean and WARM showers, very nice spots, and well maintained. But two nearby train tracks will keep you up at night.
We’ve stayed at this campground twice: once in fall 2014 and again in spring 2015. The first time we visited we were on our way to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks and it was Halloween. The trees were gold and red and yellow and we mostly had the entire campground to ourselves. This spring, we found that the campground wasn’t quite as charming as in the fall and every site was reserved, but many did not have anyone arriving for another day or two so we could stay overnight. [NOTE: in late October 2014 one shower house was open as was the dump station; however, you may want to check to make sure they are in operation if you are passing through during the winter.)
Both times we were able to drive around and choose our site, then return to the kiosk and pay. Full hook-ups are unavailable; however, all but a handful of sites have electricity. Don’t be fooled by the $20 per night charge as there are literally only a few sites lacking electricity; be prepared to pay $28 per night. [NOTE: If you are an Active Advantage member, prices are discounted.]
Restrooms are provided and showers are free with hot, high pressure water. Each shower is private and has a small bench and two hooks. In the main campground, there were two bathhouses and there might be a third in the group campground. A decent dump station is also available. Potable water is difficult to locate as nearly all the spicket are lacking threads. If either of the two camp host sites are unoccupied, you can find a threaded spicket there, or in the group campground located diagonally across from the dump station.
Sites vary in length, but they are all average in width with good spacing between you and your neighbor. Pull throughs, back-ins and half-moon slabs are yours for the choosing. Picnic tables and a fire pit are provided at every site. Some have extensive tree cover, and others none at all, with the majority being somewhere in-between. With a 31ft trailer and 23ft truck, we barely fit in some of the back-in spots and wouldn’t fit at all in many of the others.
This is a popular overnight stop off of I-70 regardless of the direction you’re heading. The State Park is well maintained and can be accessed from two exits on the I-70. The campground sits on a frisbee and golf course and is bordered by the river, which is also a popular launching spot for rafters. An RV park can be seen across the greens, but we liked the campground better, which other than our screaming toddler, was very quiet.
Just outside the campground is an Ace Hardware that also sells propane and there are a few gas stations to choose from in town. (If you like “Oh Henry” candy bars, stop at the Chevron on the west side of town just before getting back on the I-70.)
Cell service: we're on T-Mobile and had okay cell service and Edge internet. The Verizon Jet Pack was a rockstar with 4G LTE.

We stopped here for an overnight and found a nice quiet little state park campground. There is nothing particularly special or remarkable about this campground but it is quiet and conveniently located for an overnight stop when traveling I-70.
The $30 fee is for a water/electric site. Dry camping is $21. We had to take a W/E site because the available dry camping sites were too small for our 28 foot Airstream (some of the sites in this CG are minuscule and would only accommodate a pop-up or Casita sized rig!) There are sites in this CG that will accept larger rigs (not sure that many would accommodate anything much bigger than 35 feet however.) But if you have a rig that is bigger than 28-30 feet I would encourage you to reserve a specific site online that you know will fit your rig. NOTE: there is one drive through site (a loop) that would accommodate a 45 foot rig, but it's the only one!
Verizon internet was fast enough to stream HD video. We also found a lot of OTA TV channels.
The downside of showing up without reservations and not having a space big enough for your rig is not a complete disaster as there is a fine KOA in town.

This was a much needed respite for us after a week in a relentless sandstorm at Lone Rock Beach. Plenty of grass and trees around for shade and hammocks. We had 4 bars of Verizon LTE, which we were able to work from and stream some Netflix. Bathrooms are decently clean. Showers aren't anything fancy, but not terrible. Sites are super spacious (36 was the best in our opinion), and the campground was quiet. About an hour from Moab, which is a cute town (you also access Arches and Canyonlands NPs from here). Not much going on in Green River that I could tell.
We were there last week (mid-May) and mosquitos were atrocious. Perhaps because it's right by the river? Bring bug spray. Also, they do water the grass every Monday and Thursday starting at 10am. Your stuff and rig WILL get wet, and there were some puddles around the campground after the watering. I would either plan to be gone during the watering time or plan on staying inside, otherwise, you may get soaked.
Overall, our time here was relaxing and we were really grateful for the shade and quiet!

We've stayed at this quaint little park twice, once in March and once in November. March was crawling with spring breakers and the park felt quite small. In November it was us and two other campers, the leaves on the trees were still falling and it couldn't have been more peaceful.
The sites with electric are level, the ones without electric are not. The showers are free, good pressure and clean enough. The park is located right in town, however there isn't much going on in Green River. Except for Ray's Tavern, definitely grab a burger at Ray's if you're ever in Green River.

We were headed toward Flagstaff AZ from the Grand Tetons and needed a place to stay for a couple of nights. I used Campendium and found this gem. The reviews are right!
Friendly, clean, lots of shady spots, quiet etc. We were next to a 9 hole golf course and the Green River. We had a very nice, peaceful stay and recommend it for a stopover or for multiple nights. The little town is a bit rundown but they are trying to bring it back to life slowly.
The other review was right- go to Ray's for a burger and hand cut fries- they were delicious!

Close to I70, the park is on the banks of the Green River, adjacent to a golf course. The sites are fairly close together but not right on top of each other. All sights have full hookups.
The flush toilets were very clean and there are shower stalls. No noise problems were apparent. A sanitary dump site is also included.
