“a slice of cool”

This giant wooden watermelon was built to help celebrate Green River, Utah's Watermelon Days festival,. The 1950s saw this 25 feet long slice of summer juiciness come to life, quite literally - it once housed a working motor (it's now broken) and was driven around town thanks to a hallowed inside where a driver could sit. Now, it's towed around. Still pretty darn cool, though.

Good just for the fact that now I can say that I saw the World's Largest Watermelon! It was nice to be able to stop and take some pictures during the long ride. Also, got some great watermelon(FREE samples) from a place just down the road from he giant one. Overall pretty fun stop, but nothing to go out of your way for.

Found the World's Largest Watermelon outside the Green River police station. Since the wooden statue is on wheels, it moves around from time to time, so you have to be willing to explore Green River a little bit for this photo-op. While in Green River be sure and grab a watermelon of your own--the desert climate is ideal for growing watermelons, and the ones in Green River are some of the most delicious watermelons I've ever had.

You have to look for it! Kinda cool but not overwhelmingly large. Good pit stop.

Fun to take a picture with and also it was a short walk from a geocache in 2020 when I took a road trip cross country during the summer. And Tesla charge stations if you need them in the parking lot.
