This spot was recommended by some friends - we never would have found it - I dunno why. Maybe because it caters as much (or more) to locals as it does to others. (We saw a guy in a NATS hat and tried to bond with him and he said no no Imma Reds fan.) Lots of great programs including yoga in the park, kayak rental, bike trails etc. the CG was pretty hopping, lots of kids but all well behaved. Seems like there has been a money infusion - everything is newish and looks nice but we noticed over the course of the two days, trash liked up and staff - while abundant - seems to be on break a lot. Maybe we were being nit picky.
Lovely, lovely natural setting. Bummer they have you pay a separate use fee (3 bucks for a day or 10 bucks for the year). Camp Store has a decent amount of last minute supplies including some fast food. But lots of stores and supplies nearby. Bathrooms have showers. Nice playground. Cabins seemed nice. Our site 63 was sweet - right on lake with a little extra elbow room. We ended up not using the electric cause the placement was not good. They have sites for all sizes here - most of the big rigs were in the middle, on pads, with full hookups. Check in was harried but good. They are open late but access requires a key card.

We stayed for three nights in 30 amp electric only site. Had to fill water tank and were directed to spigot near bathrooms. Had to use a lot of hose to reach it and water pressure was poor, so that took a full hour and we blocked all bathroom parking to do so, which we were not comfortable with, but that was our only choice and where we were to fill. Site was gravel pad and not terribly level. Fire pit was full to the brim with ashes, so we couldn't have had a fire if we wanted to since no one ever came to clean it out as in other campgrounds where we have stayed. All of that was livable until the third afternoon. Our 30 amp power kept tripping. Luckily we have an EMS. But, it was a hot afternoon, so we reported it to the camp hosts at the office and were told there was nothing they could do; they could not get an electrician until the next day and it was just a drain from all of the people using it. Since this is a county campground, I'd say they need to have electricians and plumbers on call to fix things for their guests. All of the employees and hosts, while pleasant, seem to be barely working and not keeping the campground up considering how many of them are around. The price above includes a $14 annual fee they collect in addition to your camping fees. This campground is not worth $33 night considering the issues and lack of water and sewer. It is in a pretty sketchy area, but thankfully is gated 24/7. In fact the front of the campgrounds and camp store are very nice. Need to invest more $ in actual campground upkeep. Probably would not stay here again.

What a nice a campground. GREAT bike and walking trails. Lots of lakes. Big sites, wide open. Not a ton of extras but what they had was nice. 30 minutes from the Creation Museum (great idea, over priced) and 30 minutes from the Ark (see previous comment).

We enjoyed our stay here, despite picking probably one of the least desirable spots in the park. While 22 looks like it would be great on the map and the website photos, it's kind of awkwardly placed, so I wouldn't recommend it. Our site was electric only, but there are plenty of nice FHU RV sites as well. The campground has a nice picnic area, community fire pit area, lake access, trails, laundry, & snack bar. If you're not a resident and have a tow car, be prepared to spend a few extra bucks for a car pass.

We've stayed here several times going and returning from trips to New York. The staff is friendly and courteous; sites are concrete pads with picnic table; clean bathhouse; numerous OTA channels. Wonderful paved path around a small lake that we could stroll around and give our dog exercise.

Our site was shaded and quiet during the week. On the weekend the golf cart crew arrived and the tweenagers spent the rest of the weekend going round and round on the camp road.
The shower house was clean, shower stalls were a bit small, the water was warm.

We originally reserved site 17 but after issues getting leveled, we asked to move to site 18 and so glad we did. Shaded trees and very level gravel spot. The park is beautiful and the sites are very spacious. The ACOE built the lake but turned the campground over to the city and it's very well maintained. Bathrooms and laundry were clean. There is also a long walking path right outside the campground that goes around the lake. There is kayaking, canoe and paddleboats, among other activities. It's also close to Planet Fitness and Kroger. We will definitely visit this park again.
