Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 15, 2020After looking at all the campgrounds in Half Moon Bay area we picked this park because it had the biggest sites. We didn't want to be stacked up against other rigs. We have a 34 ft. fifth wheel and we had plenty of room.
The Good- Big sites. Friendly check in. Decent wifi with good speed at our site. Next door to Camerons Pub with a decent selection of beer. Best part was the bike and walking trails just down the road. We rode right along the ocean and took the paved path all the way to Half Moon Bay Brewery. We used this campground as a base for basically sleeping. We explored the area and especially loved the biking paths.
The Bad- Lots of campsites with long term people living there. Close to the highway and no water view. Don't stay here if you're wanting to eat at Camerons Pub. Good for a beer and watching some sports but food and service is below average. Tent sites are a joke, right along the road and hardly enough room for a tent and car.
Bottom line is we will probably stay here again but not for the campground but to get out and explore the area more.

We are telecommuting full-timers. Our employers are based near Half Moon Bay so we and stayed here for two weeks due to close proximity to our offices.
The park staff is friendly, bathrooms are clean, and onsite laundry is handy. Another nice touch ... the park provides recycling bins.
Sites vary - some W/E only with others adding sewer. The entire park surface is packed dirt and wood chips - there is no asphalt, which can be messy. Weather varied during our stay, and consequently we experienced lots of dust and lots of mud.
Location is very convenient to San Francisco and the west bay/peninsula generally. More, the Park is close to the ocean and many walking trails.
Dry camping options are limited in the Bay Area - so if/when no other camping options are available locally, this park does the trip, but do not expect to be wowed.
AT&T coverage was sporadic, but decent under boost. Verizon was very good.

Noisy! 24/7 air-con unit running from next door business (supposedly flower business but smells more like a marijuana grow facility).
The Ocean is a decent walk away and once you get there, there's no way to go down unless you'd like to jump off the cliff.
Management not facilitating after complaining about the noise issue.
Small spots = ZERO privacy
Worst camp experience ever!

Although it’s usually cool and cloudy near the beach in this area, the coastal scenery is absolutely fabulous. Bring your bikes! The park is clean and showers are free. Internet can get crowded and slow but if you use it during the off hours, you’ll be fine.

I’m surprised at the glowing and raving reviews here.
No ability to book online. I had to call, leave a voicemail and wait to get a call back the next day.
It’s like a mile from the ocean, so you get ocean weather with none of the ocean benefits. Meaning no view and you won’t be hearing the ocean waves, but you’ll be cold and wet.
The reason you get “free” showers is because most of the sites don’t have sewer hooks ups, only fresh water and electricity. They do have a dump station on the way out I guess.
Third, cellphone coverage and WiFi suck and they have no cableTV. I’ve got Verizon and get 2 sometimes 3 bars. I don’t watch cable tv, but they state “there is no cable tv, but we provide WiFi”. Well that would be great if Wifi actually worked!
Would I stay here again? Yes, because the proximity to San Francisco is convenient for what I need to do.
