Before the Painted Lady was the Painted Lady it was a place everyone knew as Lili's 21. It was the center of the punk world. Well, no, it wasn't, but it was pretty important, and was one of the first bars in the area to take a bite out of punk rock and call it its own back in the late 70s when it was first opened.
