“Swim, Fish, and Camp”
Rock Crossing Campground is the closest campground to Blue Ridge Reservoir. Just 4 miles away, Blue Ridge Reservoir is an 8 mile pocket of water that is both tranquil and inviting. Rainbow, brown and brook trout all ply this body of water and the relaxing surroundings make the trip here well worth it. If you are one who likes to view wildlife, this is a great place. Commonly seen are elk, bear, deer and eagles. Rock crossing trail cuts across both the north and south fingers of the reservoir for those looking for a moderate hike. The Happy Jack Visitor Center is located 14 miles north of Clints Well on Forest Highway 3 (Lake Mary Road).

Ratings Summary
Blue ridge reservoir is an awesome kayak/canoe reservoir that's about 7 miles long. It's got beautiful views everywhere. You can paddle down to go cliff diving as well. The campground is 2 miles from the reservoir and first come first serve, no reservations, $8 a night. It would be even better to be closer to the water or see it, but it's still awesome. The campers here are usually respectful of their surroundings so you don't see any trash anywhere. There are vault toilets, water and no other facilities. They are pretty spacious, so you don't feel like you're too close to your neighbors. It gets really busy in the summer, so arriving on a Friday night is not a good idea. However, most of the stretch of road prior to the campground is available for boon docking, so if you don't get a spot you can always boon dock it.
