“200ft limestone swim hole”

The Devil's hole (sometimes referred to as the "Devil's Toilet Bowl" by the locals) is a sinkhole that is actually enjoyed by visitors.  The thick vegetation near it hide it from the surroundings.  Once there, sinkhole which converted into a minilake has a rope swing and two platforms from which you can jump in. This particular swimming hole/party place is about 200 feet from the surface level down the the water. The water itself is is over 90 feet deep. Take S-20 from Gainesville towards Hawthorne. Look for route CR-21. Turn left onto Lake Galilee Dr, about 1.8 miles from the CR-21 intersection. Travel about 150 yards and take a dirt road to the left, just past the first group of mobile homes. The sink will be a little under .5 miles on the left hand side. This can be a very difficult site in which to enter and egress due to the steep sides. The sink is about 60 feet in diameter with the water level about 50 from the top of the sink. Water depth is about 80 feet, though it can be tannic at times. There is an old ladder on site, but make sure to inspect the anchors. It is best to bring a surface buddy to watch your stuff and provide assistance.  IMPORTANT UPDATE: This proberty is privately owned and trespassing is a federal offense. The land is currently being developed and the owners have posted no tresspass signs and the property is guarded.

I use to go here with friends in the late 90's. It was an amazing place. They really should do something with it and not destroy it so the tradition can continue. It's absolutely beautiful ❤️

I used to go there in the 70's. Normally no one was out there. Water was very clean. Later in the 70's a young man dived off one of the cliffs and died. His last name was Crawford I believe. Later his friends poured oil it the water so no one else could swim in it. Don't know if this all true.

I grew up around that area i miss it alot. It was lots of fun at the time. Too bad they started to develop around it. It use to be a well keep jem of the area. Only the locals knew of. Too many memories of that place of all hours of the day and night.

the owner only allows professional divers due to the trash and vehicles, weapons in the bottom of the hole, a few good divers go down and help get the trash out once in a while, mostly beer bottles cans and guns are found along with miscellaneous jewelry..no one enters the property without permission, or face risks of being shot on sight...there is also numerous vehicles at the bottom in wich he is going to need alot of help to get them out, but not likely soon with everyone that is not very well off at all.. it just needs some TLC..
