“A blast from the past”
"Curious eaters almost can’t go wrong at Val’s, with the breakfast/lunch menu ranging from their famous hotcakes to Val’s namesake burgers. Enthusiasts may order burgers up to one pound, and grilled onions are available. The milkshakes (malts, in particular) are some of the very best we’ve had, and a mere chili dog turns into a fork-required dish where a massive spill of chili beans smothers the bun. You may have to park a block away and wait in line, but Val’s aims to please." --roadfood.com
