“Nationally Registered US Historic Site”

For nearly 200 years, the Anderson Ferry has transported horses, carriages, families and vehicles across the mighty Ohio River. The first Ferry was made of wood and the paddlewheels turned as horses walked along a treadmill. Established in 1817, the Anderson Ferry is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Ferry is located in Hebron, Kentucky in northeastern Boone County, at the mouth of Dry Creek, which divides Boone and Kenton Counties at the Ohio River. In Ohio, the Anderson Ferry docks on the shores of Cincinnati. The Ferry is located less than three miles from the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport ( CVG ) and is one mile from I-275. The Anderson Ferry’s close proximity to CVG and I-275 provides a highly efficient route for those traveling between Northern Kentucky and western Cincinnati–saving time and fuel. Occasionally, Ohio River conditions become unsuitable for the Ferry to operate. Real time updates can be found on our Twitter feed posted on our Home page or at twitter.com/andersonferry.
