The Haunted Farm

The Haunted Farm is Western North Carolina’s Scariest Haunted Halloween Attraction. Located in rural farmland near Hendersonville, The Haunted Farm sits on a mysterious, blood-soaked stretch of land where the forlorn and deranged Missy Mae Lively eternally pines for her lost groom. (See Below.) Prepare to be thrilled with 50 minutes of frightful fun. There are three main parts to the Farm – The Woods, The Farm, and The Haunted Hayride. If you are brave enough, roam The Haunted Trail, The Meathouse, The Demon Hay Shed, and The Slaughterhouse. The Legend of the Farm Missy Mae Lively: The bad blood between the Livelys and the Tates had gone on for so long no one even remembered how it started. When the beautiful Missy Mae Lively spurned her arranged marriage in favor of Billy Joe Tate, the young lovers knew they must keep their plans secret. Missy Mae spent many hours locked in her room sewing the delicate white dress she wore the night she left to elope with Billy, but alas, Billy never came. Night after night she waited at the appointed meeting place beneath the tree where Billy Joe had carved their names. Billy Joe was never seen again and his body was never found. Rumors persist to this day. Some say that he met his demise at the hands of Missy Mae’s betrothed but most believe her brothers carried out the deed. What is known for sure is that through the years the authorities were alerted to many gruesome scenes at the Lively Farm. While all were ruled accidental, neighbors believed that the tragedies that beset the Lively family were the result of Missy Mae’s deranged mind. Neighbors often report seeing a young woman in a long white dress.
