“Old-World hospitality”

Since its establishment in 1847, Stone Hill Winery has undergone significant and inevitable changes. From early success as the nation's second largest winery to the catastrophic times of Prohibition, from its use as a mushroom-growing facility to the resurgence of Missouri's wine industry, Stone Hill Winery has evolved into a world-class winery. Today, perched dramatically on a hill overlooking the beautiful German town of Hermann, Stone Hill Winery & Restaurant is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Missouri Wine Country. Each year Stone Hill welcomes thousands of visitors who enjoy not only the award-winning wines and juices but also the region's Old-World hospitality and surrounding beauty. Guests are invited to take a guided tour of the winery's cavernous arched underground cellars before settling in for a wine tasting in one of three historic tasting rooms. No visit to Stone Hill is complete, however, without browsing through the winery's spacious wine and gift shop. A beauty to behold, this magnificent showcase displays quality wine-related items and souvenirs from antique furnishings handsomely arranged throughout the 3,000-square-feet structure. Stone Hill's visitors enjoy spectacular scenery from the winery's Conservatory on the inside to the commanding view overlooking the town of Hermann on the outside. For more traditional surroundings, guests may dine in casual comfort at the adjacent Vintage Restaurant, where contemporary world cuisine, including German specialties, is paired with Stone Hill's award-winning wines. Once the winery's original stable and carriage house, this beautifully restored building features a private room for lunch or dinner, and special group menu selections are available. Though well-known for hosting such gala weekend events as Maifest, the Cajun Concert on the Hill, the Big Band Dance, Octoberfest and numerous Hermann Wine Trail activities, Stone Hill Winery is open every day. No matter what time of year, what day of the week or what type of weather, Stone Hill's gracious hospitality awaits all those who enter.
