“amazing family theme park”

Hersheypark (known as Hershey Park until 1970) is a family theme park situated in Hershey, Derry Township, Pennsylvania, United States, about 15 miles east of Harrisburg, and 95 miles west of Philadelphia. Founded in 1905 by Milton S. Hershey, as a leisure park for the employees of the Hershey Chocolate Company, as of 2012, the park is wholly and privately owned by Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company. The park has won several awards, including the IAAPA Applause Award. The park opened its first roller coaster in 1923, the The Wild Cat, an early Philadelphia Toboggan Company coaster. In 1970, Hershey Park began a redevelopment plan which made the park into the new Hersheypark. The 1970s brought the first looping roller coaster on the East Coast, as well as a 330 foot tall observation tower, the Kissing Tower. Beginning in the mid-1980s, the park rapidly expanded. Between 1991 and 2008, the park added eight roller coasters and a water park. As of 2011, the park's area covers over 110 acres, containing over 60 rides and attractions. The park contains a waterpark called The Boardwalk at Hersheypark, and a zoo called ZOOAMERICA - North American Wildlife Park. Adjacent is Hershey's Chocolate World, a visitors' center that is open to the public and that contains shops, restaurants, and a chocolate factory-themed ride.

If you like roller coasters, Hershey Park is a great value. Hershey Park has 11 roller coasters from extreme to mild. The added feature of the water park is great too. It is too much for one day. We often pick an activity (rides or water park) and go for that and do the other the next day. As theme parks go, the admission is not too hefty. Go to a local Giant grocery store and save about 20% on admission prices by getting your tickets there. Kids 3 and under are free.

So much fun! We went after 4pm and paid 30 for sunset admission. Very cool roller coasters, and can't beat that price.

Went on the FAKE factory tour. Pretty bad. Did not spend my money. Watching this company make so much money when I know that they source their chocolate using child slavery in the Ivory Coast just made me very sad.

If you have other things you're doing in Hershey and don't want to spend your whole day at the park I highly recommend the "sunset ticket" option. You save money and it's the perfect amount of park time!

Went on a Monday afternoon in July. Family of three (two adults, one 4yr old child) we made a special side trip to here because of the "water park"- One tube ride she could go down with one of us, and lots of splash pad type water things that we have at our local park. The kids rides were definately board-walk / Fair/ Carnival type rides :ferris wheel, carosels, kiddie cars, swings and trains. We did do the monorail which was the most information on the area we received in our few hours. The price at the gate was $63 for one adult, $38 for kids. There is a great deal to add a $15 meal ticket. We did two adults. We chose to go to Moe's Southwest Grill- we got a burrito and a burrito bowl, two things of chips and salsa. PLUS we got a souvinir drink cup ($15 itself) with the 99c refills. with that. It was a great deal.
Know the area of the park, research it the best way you can. There is an app- and free wifi throughout the park, but our batteries on our cellphones drained fast, and after two hours were dead and unlike other parks we've been to- did not have the fast charging stations.
If we did ever go back to Hershey, we'd have to invest in a two day (Or more) ticket to see everything possible. 8 hours is not nearly enough time.

I loved this park. It was a childhood to do list special. Seeing the chocolate get made, free samples, and roller coaster rides was amazing!!! The only negative aspect was the fish restaurant that moved in on the tour so now you have the delightful smell of chocolate fish. Regardless the nostalgia of the hershey candy street lamps and beautiful landscaped area is amazing. The story of Mr. Hershey is also an impressive all American story.

Over-rated and expensive! Growing up in Orlando, I have been to many theme parks and this one was not worth the money we spent. Let's just say when I hypothetically asked my kids if they would rather have $50 cash or a day at this theme park, they picked the cash. And I would have saved a BUNCH of money too!
