There is so much to see and do or just lay back and enjoy the mountains and lake. When we checked in there was a pro rodeo going on just in front of the campground. There are 14 pickleball courts across the street with very good play. Enjoyed our stay. I I have straight talk service and had two bars.

This is one beautiful campground. Top of our list for sure. The lake is HUGE and just beautiful. This is one of those campgrounds where you keep going back, for us, several times a year. And WiFi was great!

Look for who is playing at Anderson Music Hall. They get great groups. You can see a show and then walk the short distance to area 2 campsites. Great Experience.

We have stayed on both sides but love the full hook-ups of course. The views are amazing on either side. Our most recent stay a couple weeks ago was to see the Ashley McBryde concert and it was perfect. We walked the fall festival during the day and stayed for the concert in the evening. Since we booked late, we were in the section next tot he parking lot, Section H. The spots were surprisingly nice! We love Hiawassee!

Fun mountain drive to get to Hiawassee. I’m used to State Park camping so this was a bit different. Check in was fine, but not convenient. I had to loop around twice to get parked to pay. Then we ended up on area 1, site 24. Avoid area 1, and especially site 23-24. Doesn’t look like there is a relatively level or well maintained site in this area. Needed to go get an extra 50’ of water hose to get “city water” for a total of 75’ running across our campsite side of the site. Plus it was 20psi. Then there was the highway traffic noise which was constant. Sites on the North side of area on are completely exposed to the highway. It’s better than staying at a parking lot RV Park with no privacy.
Wouldn’t stay here again.

We have been coming here for several years. Of late they have done away with cable tv, and their Wi-Fi is abysmal. If you're not very near an antenna service keeps going out.
Very frustrating.
So, if after sundown you wish for television entertainment, good luck.

We are here for 5 days with a group of teardrops, for our annual reunion. The scenery is very nice, although it looks like the lake had been drained. The first thing we noticed and many others commented as well, it’s a bit confusing on where to actually go. The sites are separated by the highway and not extremely easy to determine where you need to go. I will say we went past the office to check in, but the area doesnt permit for parking your camper and checking in. Once we figured out where to go (fun discussion between the wife and I) we got settled in and was good. My last comment on the park maintenance, and not sure if it’s due to the time of year we are here, but the bathhouse hasn’t been cleaned in 2 days. Other than those observations, it’s a nicely wooded campground overlooking the lake. Finally, if you are reserving a site, realize that the sites are pretty tight (you could potentially get one that just drops off an embankment when you open your camper door).
