“Blue Springs is for you!”

Blue Springs is a heavenly escape from everyday life and hurried vacations. Swim or float in a tube in the crystal-clear blue waters, walk the boardwalk along the spring run, canoe or kayak the Santa Fe River, and camp at our fully-equipped campground. Blue Springs is a second-magnitude spring with a large swimming area. It has a diving dock and is 24 feet deep in the main boil. There are 50 yards of white-sand beach, great for small children and sunbathers.  The Boardwalk is a quarter-mile long and meanders along the spring run out to the Santa Fe River. You may canoe or kayak out to the river. Fishing is permitted (with valid FL fishing license) at the end of the boardwalk, in the river. The 72°F water is the same temperature year-round and provides a refreshing break in the hot weather. You can bring or rent a tube and float in the spring. Snorkeling is permitted, but not scuba diving. long with the main spring, there are several other smaller springs on the property: Naked Springs has a floating dock and is available for swimming. Johnson Springs is a smaller spring near Aric the Giant, a very large and old cypress tree. It is available for swimming. Little Blue Springs has a floating dock and is available for swimming. Kiefer Springs is another little spring that you will enjoy. Water is only visible in this spring when the river is at higher levels.  Swimming is not permitted in this spring. Trails Hiking Trails criss-cross throughout the Blue Springs property and offer a quiet getaway to walk and explore nature. You will see flora and fauna in its natural habitat. RV/Camper sites offer 30 amp electricity and water and are located near the main spring. Primitive camping is permitted throughout the property and has no electricity or water. Checkout time is 12:00 noon.  No reservations are accepted, camping is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, tubes, and mask & snorkel may be rented at the park from Anderson's Outdoor Adventures.  Open-Air Pavilions may be reserved with a $75.00 fee (due at time of booking).  When pavilions are reserved you are entitled to a group admission discount of $8.00/person for ages 13 & up and the normal $3.00/person for ages 5-12, with a 25 person minimum.  There are four pavilions which have a concrete floor, a roof over, tables, and a grill. I have been to this park a few times and it is beautiful but I don't understand how swimming is allowed. Every time I visit I always see alligators sunning themselves along the river. After what happened in Disney I would think they would change this. There are gators in every river in Florida.

Crystal clear water and a beautiful little trail takes you down to the river. A little off the beaten path but worth the trip.

Nice place to swim. Very costly $10 a person. Not great for snorkeling.

I'm not sure where Jim saw alligators, but we never saw one at any spring in Florida! I wouldn't be surprised if you saw one in the actual river it connects to, but you would have to swim a fair distance away from the spring. This spring was absolutely stunning, and I loved how it had the platform for people to jump from! We got there around 9am and there were only a couple other people there, but by 12 the place was absolutely packed. It seemed like a great place for people to spend the whole day, because some were even grilling! I personally liked some of the more secluded springs like Ichentucknee State Park, but I can see the appeal for this one if you have a family for sure.
