Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on June 04, 2022Trails were very nice. A lot of uphills and downhills, creeks and old dams to walk through. Saw a couple of deer and what we think was a bob cat. Deff recommend at least a quick walk through.
The grounds and facilities are always clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. Haven't tried the trails but campground and recreation area are great.
Very small, pretty and quiet state park (well it is the first week of November so not surprising). Our site, number 4, is a pull through and required some maneuvering of our 38 footer but the site is pretty level.
Not all the sites are level but within leveling tolerances with jacks etc. They are gravel sites except for the disabled ones. Water spigots dotted around, only 12 sites have electricity, dump station near the entrance.
The showers are clean but very cold this time of year. On a warm day (mid 70s) it’s still at least 20 degrees colder in there. DH said the showers don’t have a lot of force so when you shower you have one side warm and the other cold regardless of how much you try to get all of yourself in the hot shower stream. (yes I took showers but in the rig, I’m a wimp).
The trails are really nice and easy, pretty walks.
Lots of downed wood for camp fires.
No alcohol allowed.
Biggest downer is phone service. We have AT&T, my iPhone 5s could not get a signal even with the WeBoost on. DH has the iPhone 6+ and got 2 bars as long as the phone was next to the booster.
Verizon was 1 bar but went to a respectable 3 bars with the booster, enough that we could both work online and do Go To Meetings with ease etc. Not having cell service is the one reason I wouldn’t come back, had to use Skype for all my calls.

This is a pretty small State Park, but super convenient off of I-95 and is very well kept. Sites are beautiful with gravel/wooden edging and the bathrooms are spotless with nice spacious showers. Water/electric and decent WiFi with booster.

C’est un camping magnifique, très boisé, il y a une bonne distance entre chaque site. Les toilettes et les douches sont propres. Nous avions un seul service, l’électricité. Les rues sont asphaltées, les emplacements sont en gravier et bien nivelés./ It is a beautiful campsite, very woody, there is a good distance between each site. The toilets and showers are clean. We had only one service, electricity. The streets are paved, the pitches are gravel and well levelled.

Great little park. You can review all thats been said in other reviews and it's pretty accurate. I will add that you do have to stop off at the park office to pay because there is no park host within the campground itself or self pay. The park office is about a mile away and you can not pay after hours and can only do so by going to the park office the next day.
There are some spots that have electric and some that don't. Our site had no power but had a water spigot that was somewhat near, but not at the site. Sites are gravel (except handicapped).
Showers were clean and had plenty of hot water though the room temp inside the building was cool. Not unbearable, but it really motivates you to get things done quickly.
Phone service was dismal for both AT&T and Verizon.

I stayed one night in late February on my way north along I-95 which made this a nice stopover. There are sites with electricity like the one I picked but water is only available from spigots located around the campground. I got no signal on my AT&T but Verizon was good enough. The park office staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't venture out much due to the weather and it appeared the trails were closed anyway. Bathroom was clean and warm. Didn't try the showers but they looked okay. Will probably try this some other time given its convenient location and price which in my case includes senior discount.
Added Jan 2022: Stayed again for one night a week ago and upgraded the rating. What is really nice is that there are trash cans very conveniently located by the sites. And the host was super friendly and helpful. I was able to manage a decent AT&T signal using an antenna connected to my hotspot. And I hiked the loop trail that is right off the campground and had a really nice 4 mile walk in the woods.

This is a nice small state park campground about 12 miles from I-95. Shaded sites with many offering good privacy. The restrooms were very clean and well maintained. Nice trail as well. We stayed in August, so there were plenty of available sites.

Nice place kinda desolate. We stayed here on Halloween night and saw a bigfoot. Nice showers, nice toilet, basic state park with a monster. Would stay here again.

Quiet, wooded site. The nice trails were pretty wet from excess rain, but we enjoyed them. Saw the largest pine trees we'd ever seen, and they were in a hardwood forest! There are only 10 electric sites and two of those are handicapped. All others have no hookups. Our only complaint was that our site (and others) was far from level. We had a pull-through, and had to try to level in multiple spots. Finally ended up right inside the site entrance, away from the pad and table. Even then, and with a small RV, we had to put multiple boards under our levelers in order to get the front high enough to level. The front wheels were well off the ground! I didn't feel very comfortable with this, but we had no choice. Overall, a great park, but site maintenance is needed.
