“family hot spring pools”
Crystal Hot Springs, originally named Madsen Hot Springs, was used by the Native Americans as a campsite during the winter. Located along the Northern part of the Wasatch Mountain range, it provided a natural windbreak from the bitter winter winds. The hot springs also provided a much needed heating source. It is rumored that an Indian burial ground is located on the premises. As the Transcontinental Railroad was being built, the Chinese railroad workers learned of the hot springs, made tubs out of cedar wood and allowed the refreshing waters to flow into them. This provided a relaxing and muscle-soothing mineral bath for them. Soon the area around the hot springs became occupied with more and more settlers. With their coming, the hot springs grew in popularity. Around this period of growth, Abraham Hunsaker, a local bee keeper, was instrumental in establishing the town of Honeyville. According to some of the locals' memories and recollections, the town was originally called "Hunsakerville". But Abraham was a humble man and asked that it be given another name. In honor, then, of Abraham's profession, it was renamed "Honeyville." Crystal Hot Springs became a business enterprise in 1901. Because of its exceptional crystal clear waters, it is not surprising it was given this name. Crystal Hot Springs' uniqueness derives from the fact that it has a hot spring and a cold spring which come together within 50 feet of each other. By mixing the water temperatures from each spring, they create optimal relaxing conditions in each of the pools. These wonderful healthful waters offer families, campers, and guests year round enjoyment.

This is way more than I usually pay per night but I wanted to stay and soak in the hot springs and the travel time and location worked out. Really enjoyed being here on a Monday in October = hardly anyone here. Some kids for Columbus day holiday but mostly low key. They charge by the length of your RV so that's why my 26' was charged $40.00. It cost me $4.00 Senior rate (1.00 off) for soaking as long as I wanted from 12 PM until 10 PM tonight. Hours vary so check the website.
Camp host was very nice.
Showers are not private as I had read somewhere else. I just wore my suit and took shampoo with me. The pools were clean and clear. They vary in their temperatures. There are dressing rooms. Things were pretty clean.
I enjoyed my grassy pull thru site. Am happily relaxed from the mineral pools.

Zero interest in providing accommodation. Far too interested in swatting flies and dealing with screaming kids in the hot pools.
Them: "We're full."
Us: "Er, we've just been up there and it's half empty. ..."
Them: "Yes, well, those empty sites are for emergencies, but... . .. someone seems to be leaving so we have one site... maybe"
Us: mental thoughts. .. it's 5:30 pm... half way through Fall... end of season... emergencies??? Forget it. Move on

I had trouble making a reservation by phone, they only accept reservations between 10am and 4pm.
When I arrived at 7pm. I found them to be very accommodating. I had the choice of 12 sites to pick from. The hot springs were very relaxing. They have full hookups, the only thing Not perfect was the occasional train that goes by fairly close to the camp.
I would stay here again gladly.

The pools were wonderful! We were achy from days of travel and work and needed the relaxation. We came in around 5:30 and don't need to be out until 1 p.m. This is also more than we usually spend for an overnight.
I'm not giving a 5 stars due to their lack of accomodation that I don't fully understand...I see it as bad business. Overall our experience was great but I now know why the earlier reviewer was turned away when they were only half full. We asked about availability of our spot if we wanted to stay another night. They said that we would have to move because the spot we were in was due to be watered tomorrow. Um...huh? Talking to another guest they wanted to stay for a whole week but could only stay 6 days as their site will then need to be watered. So the sites are pretty and grassy and they do this by keeping half of the spots empty at all times to water on rotation. From a business perspective I see them losing revenue they could put into concrete pads...but, hey, it's not my business! It would be nice too if campers could have a 24 hour swimming pass but it's just for one day and you buy a 2nd day if you want to soak before you go. Otherwise, the place is in great condition and the waters were very theaurapeutic and we would stop here again...we just now know their eccentricities. They also don't return calls...I got them on a 2nd try. In addition, RVers can only use the pools if they are staying overnight as they don't allow for RV parking in their lot.

We stayed here for a nice while traveling through. The park is beautiful and we had the nicest weather. We didn't have a reservation but showed up around 6 and the front desk was as to check us in. $50 for a site is pretty steep but we enjoyed our evening sitting outside. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit. It's unclear if there are restrooms for the campground, the staff in the office didn't know but said we could use the ones inside if needed. We didn't try the hot springs due to covid but it was pretty busy with lots of people swimming.

Let me say the hot springs was avg. a lot of concrete without any greenery. Do have a variety’s of temps. The campground facility is dismal. Hadn’t been cleaned in days. Stagnant water in back for perfect breeding grounds for mosquitoes. They did have trees. By road so do get traffic noise.

We enjoy this stop every time we are in the area. There are several pools. We like learning about the properties of the hot springs too!
Crystal Hot Springs provides a unique experience thanks to its water slides and waterfalls, in addition to the soothing waters of the springs. The soaking pools range in temperature from 124 degrees Fahrenheit to a cold spring of 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
Visitors to Crystal Hot Springs can play a game of volleyball and fish on the premises.
We think this is one of the best hot springs locations in Utah!
