“sleep under the stars!”
The Longleaf Campground offers walk up campsites for visitors wishing to camp in the frontcountry of Congaree. Campers may park and walk to their site. All campsites have a firepit and picnic table, and the campground has two vault toilets. 10 sites are for individuals or small groups of up to 8 people, while 4 sites are designated for larger groups from 9 to 24 people. The campground is a short drive from the visitor center, where running water is available, as well as park information.

Ratings Summary
Good amount of space between all spaces. Sites 1-3 are the easiest to get to. We were at site 7, it took about 250 steps from the parking lot to our site. All sites have a lot of shade. The campground is next to a pond that gets rather loud at night. I never knew frogs/toads could be so loud. Easy walk to visitor center from campground. On the path after crossing the road, we saw the synchronous fireflies! There were even a few at our site. Vault toilet in parking lot that lacks hand soap (horrible smelling hand sanitizer only). Toilet clean but poor air circulation.

So it's pretty primitive, but I like the group sites because, let's be real, camping is more fun with lots of friends. No running water and no RVs, though.
