Since its inception in 1902, the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum has housed one of the premiere crystal collections in North America and has showcased the world's finest display of minerals from Michigan's famous Lake Superior Copper District. Because of this, in 1990 the Michigan State legislature designated the museum as the "official Mineralogical Museum of Michigan." A Heritage Site of the Keweenaw National Historical Park. Museum open January 7 to May 31, 3012, Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, and June 1 - December 22, 2012, Monday through Saturday 9am to 5pm.
