“Aquarium, bar & restaurant in one!”
Downtown Aquarium is the product of redeveloping two downtown Houston landmarks – Fire Station No. 1 and the Central Waterworks Building. This magnificent six-acre entertainment and dining complex is a 500,000-gallon aquatic wonderland, home to over 200 species of aquatic life from around the globe. With a full-service restaurant, an upscale bar, a fully equipped ballroom, aquatic & geographic exhibits, shopping and a variety of amusements, Downtown Aquarium has it all!
This is the worst aquarium ever. It costs a fortune and takes 10 minutes to walk it. Only go with a buy one get one free coupon. The outside fun and train ride are the best part.
I wouldn't really call this an aquarium. It's more of a restaurant with a few ocean-themed rides and fish tanks. You can walk through most of the exhibit in a couple minutes and then wait around for the few shows they have. The restaurant is nice and great for corporate events, but if you're looking for an actual aquarium, this is not it.
This place was pretty great. It was $20 for an all day pass, but there are some unique things there. Feeding stingrays was my absolute favorite, followed by the train ride through the shark tank.
Absolutely amazing and the prices can't be beat! We loved it!
