Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on August 18, 2023It's been a few years since I stayed here so writing this review per my bad memory but...It was a nice park, small, spaces were not huge but comfortable. Convenient to shopping, movies, Huntsville and of course the US Space & Rocket Center Museum is right there. What's not to like! ;-) Oh, and it's not a bad ride to Red Bay, AL where I went one day for a tour of the Tiffin Motorhome factory. Worth the trip, it was pretty cool! I was staying there due to a work related trip to Huntsville. I always like to combine a work trip into a camping trip if possible and would rather stay in my T@B camper than a hotel. The location of this campground was practically across the street, well the interstate, from where I needed to be for work at the Westin in the Bridge Street Town Center shopping complex/mall area so that was fantastic. The access to the campground from the highway was great, the location was great the restrooms were typical, clean but nothing to write home about. The noise level was low but I was there throughout the week so would expect the weekends to get a little crazy with excited space ship inspired kids running around. That's just my speculation. For all I know it's cricket quiet on the weekends, too. Also this campground would be a fantastic overnight stop for anyone snowbirding.

My rating of this RV park is definitely colored by how much I loved my time in Huntsville. The sites are closer together than I would like, there's not much privacy, and a few of the residents appeared to be long term. But for $18 a night with full hook-ups it was a great deal and definitely surpassed my expectations. It's right off the highway, so there was convenient access to everything in Huntsville, and you're planning a trip to the US Space and Rocket Center, there's no better place to stay. (Make sure to check out the NASA bus tour!)
The park had free wifi (the website says $10, but they never charged me) that was fast enough to stream all the Netflix you need (or do work I guess). There were bathhouses and laundry, but I never used either. When I spoke to a woman who had been in the park for two months, she said the laundry was cheap ($1 a load) and in good condition.
Despite the proximity to the highway, there was very little noise. The campground is located right next door to Space Camp, so during the day there was the sound of children shooting off rockets. They were never very loud or bothersome... just lots of countdowns and clapping. While there are no official trails for walking, my dog and I had a great time exploring the fields and woods around the RV park. There are several bike trails through the woods that a local team use to practice in the early evening (around 5-7). Any other time of the day they are great for walks and you can find all sorts of interesting things in the woods. Beyond that, there's a 15 mile greenway along the Tennessee River that's great for biking or running, the Madison County Nature Trail, and the state park for all sorts of outdoor adventures.

Full hookups and every site. Large fields from spacecamp nearby as well as walking or running paths. A significant value at $18 to $20 a night. WiFi works fine.

This park is ideally situated for visiting the Space & Rocket Center (5 min walk away) as well the outstanding Huntsville Botanical Garden (about a mile away). Since Huntsville is a small city, there are also lots of grocery stores, hardware stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc. within close proximity. The full hookups functioned perfectly for us and allowed us to do some maintenance on our tanks.
We ended up enjoying our stay here, but mostly because of the location and the price. The campground itself is not that great. The sites are paved but very unlevel; virtually every camper we saw here was using blocks to get level on the paved sites. Some of the sites have huge cracks and potholes in the pavement, and several areas of the main campground loop are in extremely poor condition. The bathrooms and showers were functional (with nice hot water) but definitely showing their age as well. We didn't use the laundry (1 washer & 1 dryer located in the campground office) but the machines looked fairly new and were well priced at $1 each. The Rocket Center and therefore the campground are located along US 565, so there was a lot of road noise at all times, and a pretty loud train that runs on the other side of 565. There was also a constant parade of Space Campers coming by our site, though we didn't mind that.
There is not a lot of space or any foliage between sites. For this reason I think the back-in sites on the outside of the loop are better than the very exposed pull-throughs in the middle of the loop. Reservations can only be made by calling on the phone, and the office staff was friendly.

This campground is the perfect location for exploring Huntsville. It's right off the highway with easy access. You can walk to the US Space and Rocket Center and there is no shortage of amazing breweries just a few miles away! The location just cannot be beat! The area has ample Uber and Lyft drivers to assist you with brewery hopping!
Verizon service is blazing here and AT&T is good enough if you work remote or want to stream entertainment. With Verizon we are getting over 100 down! It's crazy good here!
The campground itself has both back in and pull thru sites. We were in pull thru site 5. This spot was level for our 38ft motorhome, but I can see that many sites do have some leveling issues. The sites really could use some updating. The water hookup is down in a hole which was really weird to hook up. Overall, even though the campground could use a makeover it's really nice and the location is super convenient. The sites are well spaced, but open and not very private. We would absolutely stay here again to explore Huntsville.

I thought the campground was great for the cost. Back in sites are $18 and pull-thrus are $20. There are about 5 pull-thrus. Others have said it's noisy but that wasn't my expereince. That said, it's summer and space camp is going on so I do hear lots of rockets as they are launched in the feild next to the campground But it isn't really bothersome and, other than cheering, the kids are quiet. Most of the sites needs blocks as they aren't level and the concrete is rough and torn up in places. There are only 27 sites and the staff told me in 2017 they had a 97% occupancy rate, so probably best to call well in advance. The biggest downside is that the laundry room (1 washer and 1 dryer, each $1) are in the office so you can only do laundry diring office hours (Mon - Sat 9 - 5). I wanted to stay a couple weeks but they were booked so I only got to stay a week, but if I'm in the area I would defintely stay again. Staff was friendly.

Great location for Space Center. Park needs work. Many sites are very unlevel....come prepared. We experienced very low voltage with temps in 80's and park full. Surge suppressor shut us down as it should. Overall, very quiet location.

Small campground, but pretty. It was in the trees. In walking distance to US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. GREAT museums and there were a lot of things for kids to do. We did not have reservations and got lucky. Next time I'll make sure I have reservations! Check in and set up was easy - level sites. Restrooms were a bit older, but were clean. I had a migraine one day, so we only had one day to tour the museums. Not enough time for us, but we are both space freaks! It was a little hard to find - had to drive around a little, because the campground is hidden in a corner of the complex.

We were here for an extended period of time while we were selling out home. I would recommend this campground as a place to stay for a few days in between stops. Not a lot of privacy between lots as there aren't many trees. Full hookups (30amp), close to the museum, botanical gardens and to area restaurants and shopping. A few trails around if you are into hiking. One thing I found disconcerting were the number of plastic rockets and parachutes in the trees on the grounds launched by the space camp kids. It really is unsightly and a danger to wildlife. I expressed my concerns and the camp director came and spoke with me. While he was sympathetic I'd be surprised (pleasantly) if anything had changed should we return.
