“Hot spring and camping in Bridger-Teton National Forest”

Along Hoback Canyon, south of Jackson, you'll find a beautiful place of complete relaxation and comfort: Granite Hot Springs. Escape the problems of the workday world and sink into the natural rejuvenating warm-water springs. With both a man-made swimming pool and a natural hot springs bath, this spot offers some fabulous opportunities to luxuriate in healing water. The Granite Hot Springs pool is open 10-8 in the summer and 10-6 in the winter. It closes for about a month in both the spring and fall. Spring season usually begins mid April and the Fall season typically ends October 31st. You can call ahead: 307-690-6323 as dates are all weather depending. The Granite Creek Campground offers 51 sites for tent camping and camping trailers on a first come first served basis. You will find picnic tables, toilets, drinking water and fire pits. There is a $15 fee for each site. Open the Thursday of Memorial Day Week through late September.   All sites are First Come First Serve. Each campsite is on a gravel and dirt pad, aprox 15x46. The sites are situated on 3 loops with 6 pull through sites for RV's. In addition to the soaking pool and the campground, you can fish Granite Creek or go for a hike further into the Gros Ventre Mountain Range.

Take the road to Granite Hot Springs, but camp along the river as you climb up the canyon. There are several spots to pull in next to the river and you will have gorgeous views up higher before you get to the Springs, which has several camp spots, but you can dry camp along the way. We loved this area and there was no one around. And, at the end of the long day, we enjoyed Granite Hot Springs for a $6 fee. National Forest Pass Required.

If I could rate this 6 stars, I would. As the previous review stated, don't stay at the actual campgrounds—stay in the multiple campsites along the river (usually marked by a clearing and fire pit). Make sure to get their early on the weekend, as some of the spots were full. We stayed at the closest spot to the hot springs and were absolutely blown away. Only one other RV there with us the 1st night (Saturday) and we have the entire site to ourselves on Sunday night.

Our spot was RIGHT on Granite Creek—as in crystal clear water just a few feet from our door. Driving up we saw a black bear off of the road, as well as countless deer and wild cows. The first morning we woke up, a moose greeted us about 20 feet from our door—absolutely breathtaking and that afternoon we saw two HUGE bald eagles. A wildlife lovers paradise.

Another surprise was the amazing star gazing. Stepping out after dark, your breath is taken away at how many millions of stars you can see—including the milky way.

The hot springs are awesome as well for some serious relaxing and rejuvenating.

Don't expect to use your phone here. It's totally off the grid... and that's part of what makes it so amazing. We did get a few bars of talk on Verizon when using out booster, but no data.

Wanted to update everyone else because we got mixed reviews about the Verizon service here on campendium and others. We drove the whole road and it very gorgeous, but even when boosted we received no Verizon data service. The road is very rough and will take 45+ minutes from 191 up to the hot springs. Several places to camp on each side of the road.

Granite Creek Canyon is an amazing place to visit. We were fortunate to secure a few camp spots near the creek. On August 21, 2017, the day of the eclipse, the weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky. During our stay, we saw a few mule deer, an elk, bald eagles and night owls. We fished the creek without any luck. The location we stayed is 7.3 miles off US191/189 north. Dry camping, leave no trace. You can pick up potable water in Alpine (Texaco Gas Station) or RV park in Daniel WY or there is a KOA just north of Hoback Jct. Call head to confirm potable water availability.

We went in June and the springs were rapids due to melting. Hot springs were in accessible. We camped in a beautiful spot and slept well.

If you’re up for camping in an insanely beautiful spot.... for free, this is the place to be! If you don’t want to boondock, there is an established campground further down this dirt road. We pulled our 24 ft trailer with no issues at all.

Actually camped at intersection with granite crk rd and 3050s. Lots of traffic both campers and kayakers on granite creek. Absolutely beautiful creek and hot spring at top. Road is tough with 2wd car but saw RVs all the way up to hot springs. Super convenient to jackson hole.

We stayed at one of the dispersed sites off this road and there were plenty of them. We went further up closer to the hot springs and were looking down on the creek below. Our site was off the road some and we were pretty secluded, it was perfect.

Well maintained gravel road. Dispersed sites all along the road, nicely spaced out. Crystal clear water, but caught no fish. Some late traffic but depending on your spot you may not notice. Beautifully stream and valley. Recommend.

When you think Wyoming. This is the picture in your mind. Absolutely beautiful. We would have stayed longer but no cell signal and I’m working on thecraftedcarrot.com so no time for no signal. The road is good for any size rig down to the campground. The campground was empty of nearly empty the entire time we were here. Probably because there are so many boondocking spots on the way. Enjoy your stay ❤️
