“food so fresh you'll want to slap it”

The Mile High Grill and Inn sits on Main St. in the heart of Jerome, AZ. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, our Americana fare has been a local’s favorite since opening in 2004. Diverse, fun, and chef-inspired, our mission is to have something for everyone, serve damn good food, and provide a safe, relaxing place to lay your head after spending the day rocking it out on the streets of Jerome. The restaurant seats seventy, is intimate enough for a party of two yet roomy enough for your bachelorette party of twelve. The Mile High Inn, located upstairs from the Mile High Grill is quaint and infused with Victorian high ceilings, original oil paintings, and most importantly, cozy, comfortable beds. The Mile High Grill and the Mile High Inn truly complement each other. With live entertainment every weekend, the Grill is a great place to enjoy the local atmosphere. If your goal is a romantic getaway, the seven room Bed and Breakfast is the place for you. The window box full of herbs is not just for fondling, though we don’t mind it too much if you do. We believe in using fresh, local ingredients wherever we can. We believe hamburgers should never come from a freezer, always be hand-pressed, and taste freaking amazing. We believe drinking shouldn’t wait for 5 o’clock, which is why our signature Bloody Mary is house made from pepper infused vodka and available to you at what is undoubtedly going to be one of the best breakfast’s ever. Built in 1899, the Clinkscale Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. (Jerome Historic District, 66000196). These walls have seen it all. Undertakers, madams, a candy store and even a ghost kitty have all resided here at one point or another. Some still do. Our invisible residents have been known to play a few pranks on guests and staff alike, often moving towels and pillows. If your bedding appears ruffled or ‘dented’ in one specific spot or you feel something rubbing against your legs, don’t be alarmed, it’s only Sipps, the resident ghost kitty. You can try to pet him, but then you would just look silly. If you want to hear more about the ghosts of Jerome, jump on a haunted Tour of Jerome. A philosophy and building isn’t enough. What is a business without its people? By luck and design, our staff is as interesting and colorful as the history of our building. You may meet us and think bartender, server, or cook. Those are our jobs. We take them seriously because we want you to have a great experience here. But the vibe of the Mile High is a direct result of our passions. Yes, definitely for food. It would be scary to have a chef that didn’t have a passion for food. He does. And he isn’t the only one. But it doesn’t end there. Many of us are musicians, artists, writers, and photographers. One of us is even a boatmaker. Creativity is a life force in Jerome. The Mile High staff is no exception. Owner Liz Gale has been in Jerome in one form or another since 1968. Her passion isn’t just the Mile High Grill, her passion is Jerome. Seriously. It really is Jerome. In all of its copper mining, ghost haunting, motorcycle riding, crazy, hippie, openly liberal, closeted republican, artist, intelligent, informed, dog loving, beer chugging, gay friendly, wine sipping, story-telling, book reading, the local drinking on the steps watching the tourists, you never know if you’re talking to a bestselling author, rock star or guy living in a tent on the hill glory, she can’t imagine being anywhere else.

The Mile High Grill And Inn has some of the best cheeseburgers and service you could ask for. In fact you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The restaurant is in a historic building nestled between shops that make you feel like your still in the 1950's. If the views from the restaurant don't keep you entertained, the walls of signs will!
