Another really well maintained CG in the Arkansas SP system. All the sites are level, some with great lake views. A great spot just to relax or fish ( we don't have a boat, lots of locals here do). Only negative are 3 lamp posts which kind of kill stargazing from your site, but maybe that's too critical. I'd visit again.

This is a very nice state park. Everything looks new and the sites and roads are all paved and pretty level. We didn’t notice a lot of road noise from the highway, but there was some. It is a very well-lit area especially around the restrooms. Restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. The only draw-back was it is about 20 miles one way to the nearest grocery store and about 12 one way to the nearest gas station. Other than that it was a very nice place to spend a week.

We stayed at Moro Bay State Park for 2 nights during late March. This campground offers spacious, level, concrete sites...most of which back up along the water. They also have sites that are full hook-up. There is a store on site, hiking trails, a playground and a marina offering boat rentals. We would recommend this park to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in southern Arkansas!

Reserved on-line 202 days prior to arrival.

Pros
All 23 campsites are full hook up so no dump station in park
Restroom/shower facility heated
Restroom/shower facility clean
Site utility hookups in good condition
Site pad is good condition. Level campsite parking pad.
Trash cans at every other campsite so no dumpsters
Metal picnic table, fire ring and lantern pole
Firewood for sale at Visitors Center
Park roadways in good condition. No low hanging tree branches
Not charged a fee to make my own on-line reservation
Wildlife sightings were bald eagle, white-tailed deer and lots of grey squirrels
Historical ferry crossing exhibit in park
Nice playground in campground
Good overnight stop only
Closest Walmart and Home Depot in El Dorado 25 miles

Cons
LOTS and LOTS of road noise from Highway 67. Lots of semi traffic.
Not dark sky friendly park! Street lights in campground! Sites 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 are fully illuminated by street lights. Who wants to camp under a street light?
Extremely low water pressure to our campsite
No park Wifi
1 bar AT&T service
No privacy from neighbors or campground roadway
No campground host
No security gate closure
Never saw any park rangers or park security driving through campground

This is a great state park with 23 nice, fairly level back-in spots with plenty of space between the sites complete with extra parking, patio, and tent pad. There is an air-conditioned bath facility and a nice small store. It is about 20 miles to the nearest store so make sure you have supplies. This was the second time we stayed here this year, and things seemed different. When we were here in March there was a park host/ranger driving through on a regular basis and someone emptied the trash cans every day. This time we never saw anyone that appeared to work here except when we checked in. When we checked in the young girl that was working the desk was not very friendly and acted like I really put her out by stopping at the office. There was also another lady sitting in the office on a computer who never looked up or spoke. I only stopped at the office because when they called to say our site was ready I was told I needed to verify my senior status. Other than that every at Moro Bay State Park was great except it was very hot.
