Large RV park with over 200 sites. Large clean bath and showers. Will recommend and will stay again when visiting the area. Pool is at entrance to park and gets some street noise.

We prefer the feel and cost of state parks over RV parks but everything was full or closed due to Hurricane Matthew clean up. So, we stayed here since the proximity to Charleston was right. Check in was easy and many (most?) of the sites are pull through and perfectly level which was nice. The back area (where we were) really packs them in with the narrowest strip of grass between out picnic table and the slide of the neighboring 5th wheel. We were dwarfed by the class As and 5th wheels (the 5th wheel next to us could look down into our vista view windows :/ ). Closer to the middle of the park offers a more grassy area, more space between sites and more trees. The back area also has some busy roads boarding it and the traffic (and emergency vehicle) noise was considerable. Again, I think somewhere in the middle of the park is better.
The fenced dog run is HUGE and our lab, Vader, approved. The small playground was enough to make my kids happy. The pool is cute but right next to a busy road. Bathhouses were immaculate.
Proximity to Charleston is superb. Access to the park is excellent. Grocery store around the corner.

My baseline for RV parks is generally 3 stars since we generally prefer the more natural settings you'll find camping in public lands. That said, Oak Plantation is a little better than the average RV Park. Some sites are more crowded than others, but for the most part, they're nicely spaced and the grounds are treed and grassy.
The office has some personalities. Some are more interested in being helpful than others. The young man who checked us in asked "no kids, no pets, no stress?" so quickly that I didn't really understand the question and had to ask him to repeat it.
We received a lot of mail here without any problems. The mail is sorted and put out for anyone to take, so I made sure to pick it up as soon as I received tracking notification alerts.
The location is great for visiting Charleston, though turning left out of the park can be very difficult due to heavy traffic.
The park is surrounded by major roads, so there is some road noise, but it didn't really bother us. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Arrived on the spur of the moment. During the week the park was pretty quiet. The weekends are very crowded and I could not extend my stay to a Friday.
Speed bumps although effective are way too annoying. No less than 13 to go from the entrance to my spot. That would be the one reason I would not return. Showers and baths were clean although look circa 1970 probably 1960.
Lots of tall trees so satellite reception is hit or miss. Sites are all pretty level as is the whole CG. Staff were very nice. As another review said there is a smell to the water so don't fill your tank if at all possible.

Trains, Planes, Autos, Ambulances and Fire Trucks – yes, there is noise here. We ran a few fans in the evening [for white noise] that helped, but that did not solve the noise issue (i.e., our sleep was still periodically disturbed). For anything more than a short stay, we would have a problem with the noise at this campground.
We have stayed at this campground twice. The positive is the site assigned to us, both times, fit us. We did not care for the site during our first visit, a little closer to our neighbors than we prefer and it was very unlevel front to back. The site that was assigned to us, during the second visit, was nicer (i.e., better site length and spacing).
The campground location makes a trip to the historic areas of Charleston relatively easy, but due to the noise, outdated facilities and infrastructure as well as you can’t reserve a specific site [nor will they tell you the site they assigned to you, until you arrive at the campground] – we don’t find this campground overly desirable. However, the campground does have some big rig friendly sites.
Access is challenging with no light or stop at the entrance - getting in and out through non-stop traffic takes a while in all directions.
Easy check-in with delightful staff, all friendly and very helpful. Plenty of room to park for check-in. Good signage in the park, wide interior roads, trees are nicely trimmed.
Our site was level on gravel with small grass area and picnic table. Impeccably maintained, very clean. Trash cans at the end of each row. Recycling on site. We didn't use the showers or other amenities.
Park WiFi worked well for us. It was quiet the whole time we were there. One large bright light was annoying.
50 amp FHUs all worked well. Requested open sky for satellite as requested.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Our site was a spacious pull through site on gravel with a cement pad and table. They sell propane and have a small convenience store and fire rings available to rent daily ($4.50/day). Their laundry facility is clean, reasonably priced, and machines are efficient. We were very pleased with that and enjoyed a game of chess on their giant garden chess set while we waited for laundry to be done. We did not check out the pool. It is located a the front of the campground right next to the highway.
The campground is conveniently located to the city which was great. It is situated between two busy highways so there is road noise, but we stayed for the convenience, so that did not bother us. The WiFi was spotty. That would be our only real note for improvement. There are well marked garbage and recycling cans throughout the campground. There are sites with full sun and with shade. They even have a dog run.

We stayed here due to the proximity to Charleston which was only 10 minutes away. Overall, everything was great here: Clean showers, pleasant staff and decent laundry.
Note for Rainy Days: The night we arrived it was pouring rain and upon getting out of our vehicle to unhitch we noticed a bad smell. After thinking it might be something in the RV park, we drove 10 minutes away for dinner and still smelled it. That’s when our server mentioned something about the nearby paper mill causing the stink. Long story short, there is a paper mill just outside of Charleston, so on rainy foggy days it makes the air smell gross. At least it’s not your neighbor’s sewer! Lol The next day the skies cleared and the smell was gone for the remainder of our time in Charleston.

It rained for a few days while we were here, but they were nice enough to upgrade our site to a full-hook with a cement pad. Uber easily into Charleston. Convenient to groceries and other shopping opportunities.
