“The historic home that inspired "Tara" in Gone With The Wind”
Welcome to Stately Oaks! We are excited to have you visit our historic home. Stately Oaks is a plain Greek Revival antebellum home in the land of "Gone with the Wind." The historic grounds are home to the main house, country store, one-room schoolhouse, cook house and much more. The historic community is open for tours Fridays and Saturdays 11:00am - 4:00pm. Tours on the hour with the last tour beginning at 3:00 p.m. Tours may vary; visitors will either enjoy a CD tour or a costumed docent will guide visitors through the home. All Saturday and pre-arranged tours will be led by costumed guides.
Very small but interesting depiction of plantation and rural life. Hosts are very nice and knowledgable.
