“started in 1949”
Jack Rabbit Trading Post was started in 1949 by Jim Taylor and his wife. He leased the business for most of the years he had it. Cindy's granddad, Glenn Blansett, leased the store in 1961 and then bought it in 1967. He was just getting out of the senate so we were lucky for that because he helped to get the access ramps off I-40. In 1969, Cindy's parents, Phil and Pat Blansett bought the Jack Rabbit from Cindy's granddad. They had the store for 26 years. Until Tony and Cindy bought it from them in 1995.
I took the exit to stop in but it was closed down and in a bad state of disrepair.
"Here it is" You have to get a picture in front of the famous "here it is" sign! Other than that, yeah, this place isn't anything special. Snap your pic. Buy something if they're open, but other than that keep moving.
Didn't look like it was even open. Don't go out of your way.
This has definitely been closed down for a while, I would recommend stopping for a photo as the signs are getting worn
Nothing here but a rundown building
Been here a couple times in the 90's. This place was a kick butt souvenir place back in the day. So many knick knacks and cool fun stuff to choose from. Hope they'll make a comeback soon!
