“A Tranquil, Idyllic Oasis!”
Knob Noster State Park is a tranquil idyllic oasis mixture of prairie, open woodland and forest along both sides of a meandering creek. It’s a place for fishermen to wet a line, for mountain bikers, hikers and horseback riders to get some trail time, and for families to spend quality time together. It’s also a place for aviation enthusiasts to stay in the campground and watch the B-2 Spirit bombers take off and land at nearby Whiteman Air Force Base. Knob Noster State Park offers basic and electric campsites, family campsites, two organized group camps and special-use camping areas. For a little extra space, try one of the park's family campsites. Current nightly camping fees can be found through Camping Fees on the right or by clicking here. The campground is open year-round. Reservations are accepted for stays during the on-season. On-season (April through October) services include reservable campsites, dump station, showers, water and laundry. During the off-season (November through March), potable water is available at the frost-free spigot near campsite 3. Firewood is sold weekdays during office hours. To view campsite details, photos and availability, continue on to the reservation website. From there, you can select your desired dates and facility to begin the search. The campground is wooded, but still easily accessible with a larger trailer. Sites have 30 amp hook ups, but no water hook ups. Most pads were flat and level, Did not have to use any ramps on the site we were at. We visited in early April and it was pretty well empty and quite. Except for the fighter jets, not going to loose a star on noise for those though, cause it's the sound of freedom!
Only negative from what we did use of the facilities, the shower heads suck. Low flow tiny stream type.

Wooded campground near Kansas City. We enjoy this state park for its easy to maneuver sites. The sites are also pretty level. In fact Site 43 is level side to side. We like the hiking trails including one around a small lake. The park is easy to get to right off of Highway 50, but is far enough away to not hear any road noise. We like the roomy sites wooded sites. The dump station is a little tight leaving.

...I was the CampHost here for 4 months during the 2020 Summer, so: this is a nice park! Except, the sites are not paved, they only have 30 amps, no water or sewer at each site and poor WiFi. There is a dump station at the entrance to the campground. Each site has trees nearby and most are shaded. There are also good tent sites and Bike-In sites available. There are 2 stocked lakes in the park; no swimming is allowed, but you can fish with a license. There is no pool; there is a small playground for children. There are many nice hiking trails throughout the park; ticks are a big nuisance in the summer. They have a raccoon problem here as the dumpsters are easily accessed. The raccoons have little fear of people or dogs and will raid your campsite day or night. The park staff keeps the bathrooms/shower house super clean!
Whiteman AFB is the nearest neighbor; this is the home of the B-2 Stealth Bomber. They fly these as well as A-10 Warthogs and T-38 trainer jets throughout the week, day and night. I love planes and this was not a problem for me; others may not agree.
Overall, this is a nice little campground!

Such a lovely stay-- not crowded during the week and the showerhouses were immaculate. Everything was tidy. There's a bit of highway drone, but not that bad. We had a terrific experience here walking and hiking some wooded trails. There were kayaks for rent too! Very cool place.

Spent one night here with my 8yo in a tent. Campsites were shady with a picnic table and fire ring. They are very close together so do not afford much privacy. Bathrooms were very clean. We fished and went kayaking (kayaks are $25 per day). Ice and firewood for sale at the gate. Some noise pollution at night from nearby trains.

This park was very nice, very basic. The campsite was clean and felt safe. Plenty of trees for shade, a fire pit and table at each site. Hiking trails clean and clear. Pretty quiet even when full of campers. Water access but not really for swimming, just kayaking. All in all, a great park.
Great stop. Level sites. Clean showers. Quiet and shady RV spots. Very pleased with the campground
06/2002:. Level sites; 30amp electric only; clean restrooms; very friendly camp hosts. Firewood is available and the fire pits well maintained. I didn't get to look around much, but have no complains.
