“overlook the beauty of New Jersey”
Mount Tammany at 1,500 feet high looks like a bowling ball of red sandstone and brown shale that could roll into the Delaware River at anytime. The mountain stays put, but one can follow the Red Dot Trail to a memorable overlook hundreds of feet above the river and stare at thru-hikers passing Mount Minsi in Pennsylvania, then follow the Blue Dot Trail into a valley cut by Dunnfield Creek and its series of picturesque cascades.
Very nice overlook of the Delaware river and gap. I've taken my dogs there many of times. Beware of the hikers who let their dogs off leash. There is always at least one
The red trail very steep going up but worth it for the views. On your way down the blue trail you pass by a waterfall which is nice to cool off in. My beagle loved this hike and so did I.
No dogs allowed! No pick up trucks ! And it's very boing ! Nothing to do unless you have a boat!
To go to the beach you have to drive 15 min
