The original bridge from England was purchased by the founder of Lake Havasu City and reconstructed at Lake Havasu in 1971.
I have lived in Lake Havasu for 45 years now and I never get tired of photographing the area. The bridge, always a favorite of mine, has never disappointed, but it's true majesty can only be fully appreciated when experienced with it's unique Arizona desert setting.
The English Village, underneath the bridge, helps add a touch of charm to the surrounding area and the river walks on either side, easily connects two of the local beaches to the bridge.
If you are fortunate enough to visit between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you will have the opportunity to witness the 'River Rat' lifestyle. A triumph of spirit that you will never forget.
If visiting between Labor Day and Memorial Day, you will want to enjoy some off-road adventures through the beautiful Arizona desert while also taking in the awe-inspiring views of the many different mountain ranges that surround the city.
Then on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, find your way to the Desert Bar. Another unique and unforgettable experience of this Desert Oasis.
But most of all, wherever you may find yourself as the sun begins to move beyond the horizon, enjoy the sunsets, for they are unbelievably spectacular and unlike any other you will see.
Neat to see. Alot of venders under bridge. Eats, water activity., shops.
