This is still a great place to camp. While growing up I went camping here every summer. There was tons of stuff to do and I was never bored. Now the campground looks better but lacks the attractions to keep kids happy. There used to be a go cart track down the road, and the park's arcade is now a storage facility. The beach at the park is still quite nice and they've renovated most of the playgrounds at the campground. I still love this place, but it's not what it once was.

Our first experience here and we loved the dog beach but it did rain all weekend so we didn’t get to explore the park to much. Nice large lots with big trees and lots of shade.

This was our first campsite with our new camper. We were a bit nervous with backing into the site as we had never done it before. Luckily the site was angled, so it made it a little easier to back in. The site is a gravel pad and was just slightly unlevel. We had a picnic table and fire ring. The area is surrounded by grass and about 10 feet from neighboring campsites. We were very close to the lake and just next to a inlet of water. We had full hookups, which was very convenient as it was our first night camping with the camper. A huge thanks to our friendly neighbors who helped us out with answering our various camper related questions! We had great cell phone and LTE reception. For an extra cost, WiFi is available at this campground.

Weather was great yet hot so for a switch I didn’t have to contend with the rain. This park is situated next to a shallow lake. I’ve stayed at Ohios’ state parks for years and this park has a little different atmosphere. With an emphasis on boating this park draws watercraft fans and I guess maybe not as laid back as the typical RV fan.
Nonetheless the park employees were polite. The pool was clean and well maintained. A lifeguard was on duty. Ample dumping stations and some sites do offer full hook up. The beach was surprisingly clean. No lifeguard there. Several play areas for kids. Kayak and bike rentals are available at the park. Almost all sites have 50 amp. services. All sites are back in. Some sites are available next to the water and are nice.
Too many golf carts.

This park has like 450 sites or so and while most sites have a few feet of green space between them what kills it for me is he drive by traffic. They allow three visitors passes per site and on he weekends in the summer you better believe most sites use all of them. This leads to a non stop flow of cars, trucks, rvs, and golf carts on the roads at all hours.

The pool is newer and VERY nice. The lake/beach was weedy and muddy in August. The playgrounds are very dated and worn out. There are at least 5 dump stations and a few places for potable water. Most sites are electric only. Overall the park is okayish. Maybe a good base camp if you are boating. For me though the amount of people driving by at all hours is a deal breaker.

Had good T-Mobile and Verizon signal.

Facts: Pad was level enough (had to go tongue way down but only 1 pad under tires). This was my first parking job with the new RV and it was an easy back in space (but I got my money’s worth by taking 15 minutes to do it). It just accommodates our 25’ ROO 233s but plenty of parking next to it for our 21’ F350. Not many bugs in July so that’s a plus. Facilities in the A lot were minimal but clean (2 toilets and 2 sinks. Potable water at front entrance only (none in the A loop). Staff was friendly but business-like as there was a line of 4-5 RVs at check in time. I did see them hand out dog treats to car in front of us. That’s a ++ in itself.

Pro: View was spectacular on the inlet. Quiet. Lots of bike riding and space for a pick-up game of sandlot ball. Boats were everywhere and lots of relaxed faces and smiles. Dollar General and a small grocer are within 0.7 miles. Fishing off the back of the site and neighbors caught 3 small somethings in a span of 15 min.

Con: Beautiful geese...everywhere. Which means that there is geese crap everywhere and tracked into the RV. Our “premium” site did not include water. Newbie mistake as I assumed “premium” and 50A meant water was obviously included. Not. A few big dog barks hear and there but reasonable. Of course there’s that guy who starts his Harley at 10:30pm to cruise the campsites.

WiFI with Ranger Boost: 0.48 MBPS down (slow slow) and 0.45 MBPS Up (Slow slow)

Beautiful park with trees and a lake. Everyone was friendly. I did not know Ohio had anything like this.
Not happy with no water or sewer at most campsites.

Most of the sites are electric and water and are supported by 5 dump stations. We stayed in a full hookup site.

The sites are generously spaced with a well cut lawn. Most sites are partially shaded.

PROS
Able to reserve 144 days prior to arriving
Very nice campground but the design leaves a lot to be desired
Friendly camp hosts who were busy picking up trash in common areas and cleaning sites Moveable picnic table
Metal fire ring with cooking grate
Site D45 level asphalt parking pad surrounded by grass
Great view of lake from D loop; some had water access at rear of site
Quiet except for campground party animals who kept it going into the wee hours of the morning
Coin-operated laundromats in non FHU loops $1.50 wash and $1 dry
Free WIFI available and able to connect at campsite
Dump Stations at Park exit have complimentary hoses
Camp store sells hard dipped ice cream
14 miles from the Airstream Service Center in Jackson Center

CONS
No senior discount
$6.50 reservation fee for self made on-line reservation
Basically the FHU loops are out in a field…no privacy from neighbors and no shade what so ever
Grass around sites desperately needed mowed, if you could get thru the large mud puddles
FHU loop D has narrow roads and require driving on grass to back in trailer and some campers in other sites had to move their vehicles
Short length of campsite required creative parking of tow vehicle
Damn Canadian Geese poop every...what a mess!
Site number on electric utility box
FHU sewer connection at the back of the campsite so bring the looooong stinky slinky FHU loop D had tiny toilet building, but no showers; showers were in non-FHU loops
No entry gate personnel on a Friday afternoon to accomplish check-in. Went to park office next morning and was informed no check in required prior to Memorial Day. Never saw a Park ranger driving thru campground

I only give a 4/5 stars because the WiFi didn’t have signal at my site and because the dump stations don’t have a hose long enough to use the black tank flush on the right side of my trailer. WiFi isn’t normally a big deal, but with 3 days being storms, I was hoping to watch some movies in the evenings.
Also, the trash truck came at about 7:30AM and was not in the least concerned with making noise. Slamming the dumpsters down as they emptied them.
