“Filming Location for The Hangover”
The South Central Area Command (SCAC) is one of eight area commands responsible for providing an array of police services throughout the Las Vegas valley. SCAC was opened in October 2002, and at that time, provided service to “The Strip”. SCAC was named due to its geographical location, as it was built in the center of two other southern commands, Southeast Area and Southwest Area Commands. SCAC is in the southern part of the city, consisting of 35 square miles. McCarran International Airport, which is the 23rd busiest airport by passenger traffic, separates the northern and southern sectors of the area command. The northern boundary of the area command is Sahara Avenue, while the southern boundary is the city of Henderson. The eastern and western boundaries are Eastern Avenue and Interstate 15, respectively. This police department facility was used as a filming location for the film The Hangover, when the gang agrees to demonstrate a tasing to get out of some legal trouble.
