“A celebration of Winter!”
The Fire & Ice Winterfest is held each year over the first full weekend of February in the quaint resort town of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho (just over 2 hours North of Salt Lake City), famous for its natural spring-fed hot pools. Come, bring the family and celebrate winter! One of our zaniest events: the Polar Bear Float! For those who dare to jump into the Bone Chilling Portneuf River, on a float tube, dressed in your craziest costume! All for a chance to win prizes and maybe international fame! In the past, we have seen wonderfully creative costumes, from the Easter Bunny to Santa Claus, to the infamous band KISS floating down the Portneuf. Do you dare jump in with the rest?
