“Bringing history to life”
The West Bay Common School Children's Museum is located in League City's historic district, nestled among the live oaks and historic homes. When you visit the 1898 Schoolhouse Museum, the schoolmarm brings history to life with an award winning program, that includes a pen & ink lesson, math, spelling and history lession, reading at the recitation bench, slate lessons and a spelling bee. In the Barn Museum, visitors experience the recess portion of the school day as well as explore the life and times of this once early cattle ranching town through a fascinating display of antiques, artifacts, and hands-on experiences. The Icehouse-Barbershop building depicts an early League City business establishment that includes a recorded story with "ghost" images.
