“stay & dine in Ohio's oldest hotel”

The Golden Lamb is part historical attraction (with a large Shaker artifact collection and display, as well as a historic building and the oldest continually operating inn in Ohio), part local restaurant/fine dining/bar/private events (thanks to the three main dining rooms, the Blackhorse Tavern and private dining rooms),  and part inn.

With its legend of drama and romance that are a part of our traditions, The Golden Lamb is dedicated to the preservation of American Life and holds fast to a quality of gentle and gracious living.

The inn is open year round, with 18 historic overnight accommodations. All have antique furnishings, private bath, television, air conditioning, telephone and are named after a famous guest of the Inn. They are located on the second, third and fourth floors of the building with no elevator.  All dining and Hotel rooms are non-smoking.

Ten presidents, including John Quincy Adams, have stayed at the charming Golden Lamb Inn, in operation since 1803. Harriet Beecher Stowe and Mark Twain also are among its former guests. The rooms also are named for past guests, and rumor has it that the Harriet Beecher Stowe room is rich with supernatural activity. In a room on the fourth floor, you can view several museum exhibits, including a children’s room that used to belong to Sarah Stubbs, the daughter of a former owner. The exhibit has been moved from its original spot, however, because its situation near the stairs became a hazard to guests, and staff say that is why Sarah’s ghost has begun to play tricks, such as leaving all the pictures in the room askew on their hooks. Her ghost, wearing a white nightgown, has been seen by many guests; she is said to materialize at night to play with her toys. Staff says three guests have died in the inn, and their spirits never left. Former congressman Clement L. Vallandigham shot himself by accident in 1851 on the second floor, and his shadow has been seen pacing his room. The ghost of Ohio Supreme Court Justice Charles Sherman also has been seen–he died here in the 1830s.

Pretty cool place, well worth a night when you're in the area and looking for a place to crash. Cheap rates too. It's even rumored to be haunted... spoooooky!

This may be the most historic place in Southwest Ohio! Not only has it hosted a ton of presidents and presidential hopefuls, but it still does! Romney just stopped here last election. Aside from the history, the place is still great with that old-world charm and beautiful decor. The first place you must stop when coming through Lebanon, OH

Delicious place to come for brunch on the weekend. Not busy at all and the service was great. The eggs Benedict were wonderful as was the steak and eggs, though my husband thought they were salty. Will definitely come back again!

Great place! A beautiful historic inn that would feel at home in a historic New England town. Had a very tasty breakfast here this morning.

The historic town of Lebanon is a great place to visit. The Golden Lamb is definitely the most notable place to experience as it's the oldest standing hotel in Ohio. I've only been once, ordered the Flat Iron Steak and it was really juicy / tender. My wife was raving about the house salad dressing and thought it was unique. Step back in time and enjoy some great food..

This and Irons Fruit Farm make Lebanon, OH a great place to visit in the fall. The Golden Lamb is an extremely historic place in Ohio, so that alone makes it worth the visit. Not to mention, the restaurant serves the best pork chop around. Lebanon town square is quant/fun, too.
