“America's true pioneer man!”
Nestled along the Nolichucky River, Davey Crockett State Park is perfect for a serene outing. There is a great camp ground with RV hook-ups/electric. A family pool & rec area and numerous picnic sites shaded by beautiful old trees. There is good fishing as well. Although the cabin is not the original, it IS authentic & true to the era. There is a group known as the Friends of Crockett which holds regular events (in period costume). You can swim in the river as well. The area by the park is calm with some small shoals, but no rapids. Perfect for a lazy day of tubing! If you are looking for a more quiet and serene location to picnic or camp...Davey Crockett is the place to go!

Booked a few months in advance online which was an easy process.
We had a fire in our tow rig and had to have the camper towed to the site by towing company. Since it was Friday of Labor Day it was completely full.
The sites numbered 50-60s are mostly level. We have a larger 5th wheel, and its really tight. I don’t think you could get a rig in there if the parking for the tent spots were full.
The sites 1-10 are NOT LEVEL. You will most likely not be able to get your rig level on these. They slope up dramatically.
The bathrooms were clean and the showers worked really well.
There are a few trails around, and plenty of history of David Crockett.
EVERY PERSON we met that worked here were fantastically friendly people. We had our rig in for service and actually stayed two additional days. The last day we stayed, the site we were in was booked. The staff called the campers, and they agreed to move next to us.
The only downgrade to this location is that the sites are too close together.

Campground is nice but with close sites & lots of barking dogs. Most Sites are pull through which is nice.

We have family in the area and came across this jewel while visiting. The grounds are well maintained. There are nice FHU and rustics sites with several miles of dog friendly trails. This is not a large State Park but it has a lot to offer. The historical site is a short walk from the campground and contains a plethora of information. The rangers are very friendly and gladly answer any questions as well as giving nature hikes and historical tours.
The sites slope downhill toward the river, but get leveler the closer you are to be he river. Large Motorhomes will want to avoid the first row (closest to the road) and possibly the second row. You will definitely need a few more leveling blocks on these rows. The last two rows are not too bad with few to no leveling blocks needed.
Note: If you have a long trailer or Motorhome, say 30’ or more. There are several routes to get here coming off of 11E. Make sure and call the campground for directions. You want to follow the route from the Limestone area that takes you under the railroad tracks. Otherwise you will be on some uncomfortable narrow curvy roads.

Arrived en-route to NC. Would love to stay over long weekend but no room host / hostess really friendly and helpful. Really adding ‘this review so I can score Tmobile as it is unreported to date. I use both ATT and Tmobile hotspots. Both work great here.
Layout is like a commercial campground, drive thru pads lined up with little space between.

We stumbled upon this park when looking for a place to escape the madness of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The park is small, but packed with history! We enjoyed a beautiful hike with an AMAZING view of the river and rapids. The sites are rather narrow but we had no issues getting in and out with our 34' 5th wheel. We would definitely stop here again if we are in the area! We had 2 bars of Verizon service using our MiMo antenna.

This is our average daily price, the rates ran from 33, 34, 35 and we also had a senior discount. Sites are extremely close but well maintained. They do have water view sites, but they were all full. We stayed here for the history, but all that can be done in one day. They do have some hiking trails, but nothing challenging. Greenville and Jonesborough are close by and also have historic sites. Roads to get here are narrow and winding. They do have a laundry facility.

Feel free to check out my blog and Youtube review that will be linked to this review, but this campground was a miss for me. I felt like they were trying to be an RV resort and not a State Park.

I booked my stay online. I will no longer do that because I didn’t get my senior discount. I called TN parks and was told I need to call to make reservations for a discount to be applied. With that said my original space was lot #3. It was not level, it was like taking a nose dive down the center of my RV. The camp host was very helpful with getting my lot changed to #12. The level lots are in the middle of the park and to the south of the office. The park is well maintained and the staff is very helpful.

Great Park. Easy to find. there is a campground right there, nice walking trails, a nicely done remake of the homestead. It was a nice walk back in time. There is a visitor center, restrooms, and no fee.
Beautiful park, nice visitor center. Would be a great place to camp. We stopped in for the history. Nice to see the river and locale where Davy was born.
