Natty Flat Smokehouse and Gift Shop

A year or so ago a fellow woodworker told me about the Texas Hill Country Furniture and Mercantile thinking it might be a consignment source for some of my wood turnings. Well I didn't find fame or fortune, but what I did find was the best Texas Smokehouse BBQ I've ever had. The Rocking Chair and store is a BIG hit with the grand kids so there is always an excuse and willingness to make the 90 minute drive. Need to stretch your legs, have some fun and good eats doing it.

Very enjoyable location with great food. I would agree with those who say the meat is a bit dry. We got sliced brisket and pulled pork. It could have been warmer. Coleslaw was good. The BBQ beans have lots of meat and were my favorite. The baked potato salad is basically potato casserole. Tasty but I wish I’d gotten the cold potato salad. Neither of us were able to eat all of our food. Over all good food and great stop. There’s a bakery/cafe, Dented Bucket, next door. Both were full of locals.
