If you ever find yourself in the backwoods of Kentucky be sure to stop here for an amazing tour of one of the top bourbon distilleries. However this is not a family tour, you must be at least 21 years old in order to go on the tour, because they do a tasting at the end. Yummm. Before or after the tour, they also have the cutest lunch spot, just through the woods, with one of the best pulled pork sandwiches. You can also stop by the gift shop, buy a bottle of maker's and dip it in the wax your self! For all you art lover's out there they also have an installation piece by Dale Chihuly, that you will see at the end of the tour.
Warning: Get ready for the longest, most backwoods ride of your life, haha. Really though, it was well worth the drive, really neat place.
One of my favorite tours on the bourbon trail. They lead you through the whole process. Tour guide was very knowledgable. Tasting was great. Grounds were beautiful. If you're doing the trail, I would recommend making this one of your stops.
Make sure to check when the production is shut down for maintenance. They still do the tour, but not much to see. Tasting was well done.
Being an Ambassador I try to visit every couple of years. The grounds are beautiful, employees very friendly and the "booze" is great.
Takes a bit to get here, but very worth it. The grounds are beautiful and the tour is very informative. At the end, they let you dip your own bottle! They also explain their varieties and why/how they keep consistency over time.
If you buy a bottle while you're there you get to dip it in the red wax yourself! Kind of cool. Would make an awesome day-trip if combined with Mammoth Caves.
Definitely worth the trip!! Beautiful grounds!! Highly recommended
