“designed by Frank Lloyd Wright & used in countless films”
Built in 1924 for retailer Charles Ennis and his wife Mabel, the Ennis House was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built by his son, architect Lloyd Wright. Used in films such as the 1960 William Castle film, 13 Ghosts. Listed as Los Angeles Historical-Cultural Monument #149. Despite its significance, the Ennis House suffered greatly over the years from deferred maintenance, deterioration of the concrete blocks, the 1994 Northridge earthquake, and record rainfall in 2005. That same year, the Los Angeles Conservancy, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy stepped in and reorganized the nonprofit that owned the house, renaming it the Ennis House Foundation.
You don't have to know a lot about architecture to appreciate how freakin' cool this place is. It looks like an ancient Egyptian tomb. It's only open a few days a year, so keep your eyes peeled for the next date!

This is one architectural gem one gets to see in Los Angeles.
Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the greatest architects of all times. Such a well cared building, despite all these catastrophes it suffered, it still looks amazing.
Well worth to see it both externally and internally, get educated about its existence and history and walk through its rooms.
The staff is very helpful and willing to answer to any questions.
