“Experience the finer things”
The opulent two-story lobby has a hand-painted, coffered ceiling, Bottocino marble flooring, finely carved mahogany furnishings and Palladian-style windows. The Georgian-Revival style exterior is trimmed in stone and terra cotta. The breathtaking appearance of this historic structure is one of many reasons that the Brown Hotel is revered as the finest hotel in downtown Louisville.
We stayed here for a night and it was just lovely. Beautiful building / interior, comfortable and quiet rooms, friendly staff (we even got a complimentary ride to our dinner reservation by the shuttle, as it wasn't being used at that time) - we'd definitely stay here again.
The home of the Hot Brown, cool....until you find out that it costs $20. The only sandwich I'm paying $20 for is a party sub. For real though, the lobby is GORGEOUS and everything is nicely decorated. The room was spacious and the furniture was comfy, but the bathrooms were in desperate need of updating (especially the shower and tub). Decent location, but the parking was a huge pain. I'd definitely come back here for a drink.
We stopped by for lunch at j. Grahams cafe. They offer validated valet.
We shared the hot brown and a slice of derby pie. Yum!
Service is great and hostess is sweet.
The lobby is absolutely beautiful, and our rooms were cozy if not a little small. I thought the beds were so comfy, and the staff were awesome-- they loaned us a wine opener. The bathrooms were a little outdated though.
