The Buddy Holly Center, a historical site, has dual missions; preserving, collecting and promoting the legacy of Buddy Holly and the music of Lubbock and West Texas, as well as providing exhibits on Contemporary Visual Arts and Music, for the purpose of educating and entertaining the public. The vision of the Buddy Holly Center is to discover art through music by celebrating legacy, culture and community.
The Buddy Holly Center celebrates Lubbockâs most loved son, Buddy Holly.
Memorabilia from his earlier childhood all the way to his days of fame can be found here. Be on the lookout for his personal belongings, like his horn-rimmed sunglasses, records, guitars, and more. Some of the memorabilia seen here was collected from the debris of the fatal plane crash that took his life.
We think a visit here is a must-do when visiting Lubbock.
