Mammoth Spring State Park

Absolutely awesome stop on our road-trip. The two ladies at the visitor were top notch and very helpful. There is a visitor's center that has information from all around the state. The park is very well maintained and clean. The power of the rushing water was very impressive. I have been to a few spring but have never seen one that flowed at the rate of this one. The old power plant has interactive exhibits to explain the functions of the hydroelectric generators that were used in the early 20th century. There are plenty of walking areas around the spring, lake, and the transition to the river. The mimosas were in full bloom and made the park small great. The train depot attendant was very polite and outgoing. He answered all of our questions and showed us the very well done exhibits of the prior train services that were available in the area. A short walk or drive through the park gets you to the fish hatchery where there is a beautiful exhibit room with large aquariums with local fish and an alligator. This was a great stop and will take a few hours of your day to get through.

Great stop! Beautiful new Fish Hatchery building with aquarium displays of the various fish in the area. Kids loved it. There is also a train caboose kids can explore. Us the beautiful lake and dam, and the playground. Perfect place to stop on a road trip.

Beautiful park!!!! It’s free too!!! I loved every little piece that this park had to offer. It made for an awesome stop during our road trip.

If you’re into geocaching there is an Adventure Lab in the area but if you have T-Mobile it won’t work unless you keep walking back to the welcome center to access the Wi-Fi to answer the questions.

Great place to visit on your way to Missouri, we stayed at a little campground across the street, it was small but very scenic. Campgrounds are only $30 a night and very clean and easy to access.

We really enjoyed this stop. It would be perfect for a picnic lunch. The kids liked walking around the water and exploring the old power plant buildings.

Water coming from underground thru the limestone makes for beautiful blue streams running in two directions!!

Wish we'd had more time to explore--ours was just a real quick stop and walk for a driving break while passing through--but this was a beautiful and serene place.
